    *long*
well i have been busy the past few days and am finally reporting that i wrecked my car last week. i was comming around a sharp corner, my left side got off in some gravel and i lost control. i went through a ditch and a fence. i acutally went throught it twice, in one side of the fence and out the other. my back is still sore from the wreck but the damage to the car was far worse. the worst part is that the fence was connected with heavy guage steel cable. not a panel on the car without scratches.

totally screwed the front bumper cover and foam underneath it.
fubar'd the drivers headlight and bracketry holding it in.
    busted drivers side corner light
    dented and scratched the hood.
scratched both fenders, and dented drivers side
    busted windsheild
    scrached both doors.
    scratched up driver side mirror.
scratched up the top of the car.
dented and scratched both rear fenders.
    scratched deck lid and spolier
spidered the paint on the rear bumper
    knocked off my antenna.
me being thrown around inside broke the console lid.
guy at the collision center thinks the frame is bent because the fender gap on the passenger side is larger, and the gap on drivers is smaller (door hits when opened). so its got to go on a frame machine.

all those totals over 5k in damage, and geico is picking up the tab. although im sure i will pay for it in premium increases. good news is, im getting new black halos, smoked signals, and a fresh new paint job. im going to take off the hockey stripes and may go with something else a bit smaller, even thought about grand sport stripes. either way, glad the car is going to be staying around and getting up nice upgrades....just sad it had to be this way.

thanks guys(and girls)......... appreicate it. i figured it would be totaled out, but geico is saying the car is work 10.6k, which i dont see how really. either way, i would have found another f-body, so at least this way i get to keep the one i already know about.

and thanks again kristen, you sure did an awful lot of work for the sale to not even benefit you. good to have members on here that dont mind helping out.

i have a few plans for under the hood later on this year. i get a nice bonus check around november and will look into it then. ive already been the nitrous route twice with this car, and will prolly look at a stoker/na setup this time. if i dont go that far it will at least be a nice cam with full bolt ons. either way its getting something.

and fubar was the only thing that come to mind when i first saw the headlight.

Re: another one bites the dust

How did you get your left side onto gravel? Either a very narrow road or you were getting a little too confident on a twisty road. It really doesn't look all that bad, I think with a coarse enough grinder it will buff out.

Re: another one bites the dust

it was just a combination of things. road was narrow, and it had gravel on the edge of it. so that mixed with a little carelessness = big mess. yea i think im going to try and pick up some turtle wax and see if i can fix it all myself/sarcasm

You can't fix that with turtle wax. Zano maybe, but not turtle wax. Where's Eric, he'll know?
