i hope this doesnt get moved but i just needed a quick answer
so i know absolutley nothing about car audio..
but..does 1 15 hit harder than 2 12's..
which is best??
thanks in advance
It depends on what kind of subs you have and what kind of amp/amps will be powering them. I haven't heard just one 15 but my friend has two type r's that are loud as hell
Black \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth
Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.
in an IDEAL world, two 12" would hit harder than 1 identical 15". that said, theres such huge differences b/w subs its almost impossible to tell just by size. You gotta look at a bunch of factors. I know some like SPL and whatnot but the best thing to do would be to go to the audio forum.
I went w/ 2 12" sheerly cuz i think it looks better, in all honesty
BTW... you're gonna find that our cars have some sweet acoustics for bass. Even a small sub will make you feel it fer sure.
2000 3.8L Camaro A4 Pewter Y87
K&N Filter, SLP Ram Air kit, Eibach Pro Kit, Flowmaster 80 series, Silverstars, NGK plugs and MSD Super Conductor Wires, Electric Water Pump
the 2 12's would most likely hit harder, and the single 15 would be able to hit the deeper notes that you can really feel. I have a single 10" alpine type-s in my hatch, and it has a great amount of bass. like someone else said, the acoustics in our cars make them ideal for producing louder bass from what i know as "the hatch effect"
the 12's would probably be the best for what you are looking for
