i don't get why everyone still has the ford vs chevy hate. that was something created back in the 60's when all the muscle cars had big rivals that 99% of you here weren't even apart of yet b/c you were still swimming around in your dad's balls. a lot of people here are constantly dissing on mustangs and other cars b/c they're the "competition." unless you work for gm there is really no good reason to hate these other cars just b/c they are rivals. do you honestly think if you walk into a gm dealer and tell them you are a loyal customer that you will get a discount??? they don't care if you're a die hard f-body person or not, so there is really no good excuse to be a loyal fan. i know this is a f-body board and omgz!!!! v6 f-bodies are the greatest thing ever , but come on learn to appreciate other cars on the road. i drove my v6 firebird for 8 years and i've always been able to appreciate other cars that were done tastefully. i just want to see people on here not say ford=gay everytime some mentions a mustang or any other car on here. [/rant] :stp:
Ok enough what foxbody did you buy or are you looking at
Its always been a friendly little rivalry between my friends and I. Sadly, I'm the only one with an F-body. But ever since we've started driving my friends have all had Mustangs, while I had my Firebird. I used to be the quickest, but they've moved on to GTs and Roushes, so I'm down to the slowest. Whenever I can afford a Trans Am, we will start the modding wars :).

it's not that i dont like fords, it more like i dont like the people driving them.
Mustangs in general all think that their car is the fastest car in the world.
Female mustang drivers are the worst.
as far as ford goes in general, i wouldnt go anywhere else if i needed a badass truck :)
But some of the things they do amuses me, like taking a new mustang, added 200 extra hp to it via a superchager, and doing little to nothing with the suspension and handleing of the car.
like im pretty sure i saw something about the base c6 corvette vs the gt500. The corvette with 100 less hp beat the mustang in every catergory except like 60-75 acceleration
I will be the first to admit, I hate most anything made by FOMOCO. I can't stand their cars, the engineering is always behind, designs are almost pointless on some systems of a car, and they always designed more parts than needed to operate the damn vehicle (FPSS anyone?) I don't dislike them, I hate them with a passion. I owned a Ford, WORST vehicle I have ever owned, and it wasn't even the oldest or the one with the most miles, but it was by far the one that gave me the most problems. They are not built to last. If you want a Ford, go for it, but I can't stand them. When they make a car that will last awhile, make it inexpensive, and make it simple, then call me.

-My camaro with 40,000 miles needed a power window motor.
-My transmission cannot handle any power
-My power steering pump took a dump at 45k with light autocrossing
-My monsoon speakers are all nearly blown, half the lights went out on my CD player
-My girlfriends Cavalier dash cracked in 5 places
-When you put the AC on full blast, the center AC vent directors fly off, unless you stuff a little piece of paper in them
-Rear drums needed new rotors/pads at 30k
-Fuel pressure regulator crapped out and started shooting fuel in the engine bay at 50k
All cars have problems... the problems and number of them are more associated with the price of the vehicle then the maker. IMO
unless you work for gm there is really no good reason to hate these other cars just b/c they are rivals.[/rant]

mmm... check!
I go to Kettering (formerly General Motors Engineering and Management Institute or GMI)... I work for a supplier of the big three and my assignment for the past 2 years is the headliners for the G6 and Aura. Plus as soon as my grades come back in line (this fall they WILL) I'll have a job at GM (i've gotten two offers already, my grades slipped due to personal issues). So that said... Ford=gay
seriously tho, I love old mustangs and I like the newer ones but I honestly think GM builds better vehicles. The GT500 is... okaaaay but it just doesn't compete well w/ a base model vette even tho they're priced similarly. Especially w/ the '08 model with the 6.2L 436hp one. ESPECIALLY in the heat. For some reason, at temps over 80 degrees, GT500's fall flat on their faces. http://www.caranddriver.com/features...-lap-2007.html
keep in mind, they tested a 400hp '07 model and still beat the mustang by over 3 seconds...
another btw... note that the lotus killed everything in the bends... if they gave it some more balls on the straight aways, it'd be the hands down greatest car of our time...

pull the motor and put it in a foxbody the best thing that could happen to it
Who cares what the make is. Personally there is about 50+ cars I would like to have and they spread across every major "brand". Wether it be mustang, camaro, viper, skyline, supra, 350z, etc. who cares. It's a piece of friggin metal with some bolts. The point is it gets you from point a to b. If you had bad luck with a vehicle these things happen. I've blown out 3 tranny's in 3 diffrent makes and models. Seriously if you keep dumping money into a car and complain about it the whole time sorry but that's your own fault.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.
I’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...
