    Re: Business opening help

Dom, there are different plotters for different uses. HP may not be the maker of the plotter that he may need. I know plotters are used in printing blueprints nowadays. Probably not the same machine used to print vinyl.

You could buy a domain, like $10 a year and you get email to keep separate from your personal one...

eBay is your friend as well...

      Need a business partner ;)

Good luck with that business. I suggest you wait to start it. Buy the supplies and gain a local crowd, strike up a deal with a local school or car club, do their decals. Otherwise you will flop. In order to even break even for vinyl you must have a HIGH VOLUME shop. We do vinyl as a business, you must rape ppl at first with prices to even start or take the hit for about a year. It is a tricky business make sure you get a plotter that can print on the vinyl as well. I suggest a Roland Plotter. Once again good luck!
PS: stick decals on all your families rides locally and nationally with a number to get some random business calls, set up a tent at car shows/bike rallies, we got a few police departments and emt vehicles that way (from ppl getting pulled over with the decals on the back window lol).

Honestly the best way to find out is to check out the competition. Keep your friends close and your enemies (competition) closer. Good luck to you, starting a business aint easy and it sounds like you have a lot of research to do.

              Re: Business opening help

My ex started the business off using two roland plotters that were in what she said "more expensive then she had figured" but then 2 years into the business she changed plotters. She said she's going to try and get me that information today.

Bump what? Do your own damn search. We're not your consultants. Go pay a consultant or jump on the internet and do some searching there's plenty info to be had. At this point your not ready, you clearly haven't done any research worth noting, you don't know what equipment you need, you don't have supplies, you don't have a list of clients (customers) you can even start off with, I'm willing to bet you haven't thought about licensing if you going to be legal, a lot to think about which you haven't yet. I think your 8k would be better spent on something like hookers and blow.

If you don't need our opinions then don't post here...it's free game bro. Get used to it. BTW if you even read my post and actually showed interest other than saying people would try to give you bad info because they don't want you to do well, and that they would want you to get a crappy plotter maybe I would be a little more helpful. To be honest you won't be competition for them (they will tell you the right plotter to get) because they have clients that trust them, not you (you won't steal their business). You have to earn trust and when there is trust often times lower prices don't matter. Once again good luck, be more open minded.

The point of a forum is openly discuss ideas and opinions. as stated opinions will be given some good some bad or "constructive". It happens everyday on here at least once.
