Is KY that bad?

This guy totally dogged kentucky and well, it doesn't really bother me one bit, but its recieved notice on the local news and alot of the people around here are very upset. My question is... Have you been to kentucky and if so what did you think of it?

I mean I can go to TN, VA, WV, OH... and a few other places including Florida and find people who can't spell or people who act redneck but I don't understand why its my state thats always confronted about it.

ive been to teh KY quite a bit, its no different than any other state to me. except ya'lls accent :p but who am i to call anyone a redneck when i have lots of family down there

Whenever I have to go south I go out of my way to drive around ky it sucks soooo bad.....just playin. I mean ky just has a bad rep. it's all good there though.

I just don't understand why someone can right an article about football... but spend time to diss a state in 2/3 of the article. My friend works at the bar he went to and told me that he wanted to down 3 beers in 30 minutes. The manager said that if he wanted to get drunk then he should find somewhere else to go... then he got upset and left. He stated that someone was selling moonshine, well sorry but i've lived here 22 years and only seen one person selling moonshine.

I love Kentucky, i mean i kinda see why some people diss it,
its not every day a former miss america (from mckinney) shootin at some ppl for stealing scrap metal from her yard.
But i mean not everybody around here is so redneck or whatever. I'm by no means redneck but i'm not some stuck up prick either...lol i'm just me i get along w/everybody.

kentucky has a stereotype like everything else.
black people steal stuff and are absurdly good at sports
asians cant drive
french are all "surrender monkeys"
germans engineer all day and drink alot of beer and eat alot of sourkraut
italians all make delicious food, talk with thier hands and take people fishing
New Yawkers don't care if you live or die
California is full of drugged out hippies that love the environment
Florida is full of old people
people from Wyoming are lonely... very lonely
Canadians all play hockey and drink lager beer and say "eh?" alot
people from Kentucky (and Alabama) are gun totin' red necks
Etc. Etc. Ect....
its just the stereotypes that people have come up with over the years. I fit into a few of the aforementioned categories... you just gotta realize that its more of a joke than a slur or anything. some people are dumb enough that they actually believe and act on them but they're few and far between. KY isnt that bad... its just like as if you were out at the pub with your buddies and they're still making fun of you for that time back in high school where you puked all over that one chick you liked and they keep calling you "Stan". dont worry about it dude... all in good fun
