Thank you for contacting the General Motors Customer Assistance Center. We appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to our incentive programs.
General Motors is committed to helping persons with disabilities equip their vehicles for easier and safer travel. In 1991 General Motors started the GM mobility program to meet the transportation needs of people with disabilities. Over the years the program has changed to offer the best possible options for our customers.
With the GM Mobility Reimbursement Program, a customer will be reimbursed up to $1,000 towards the cost of any eligible aftermarket adaptive equipment* when installed on any eligible 2006, 2007, and 2008 purchased or leased new vehicles manufactured by GM. To take advantage of this program, vehicles must be adapted and a claim must be submitted within 12 months from the date of purchase/lease. As an added benefit the GM Mobility program also gives you an additional two years of standard OnStar Service at no additional cost, a retail value of about $400 or more depending on level of vehicle’s standard service.
Most General Motors vehicles can be modified in some way to accommodate your needs. These modifications are done by a licensed third party Mobility Installer. Your local Mobility Installer(s) are the best people to discuss different available options with you. They would be more than happy to help you find a vehicle adaptation that can meet your needs. A listing for your local mobility installers can be found in your yellow pages under Medical Equipment., or we here at the Mobility Center may be able to help you locate one in your area.
Please feel free to visit us at www.gmmobility.com where there is more information on our reimbursement program for after market vehicle adaptations. You may also contact us at GM Mobility Program Headquarters at 1-800-323-9935, prompt 1, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Eastern Time.
Again, thank you for contacting General Motors.
Sincerely,
