  • We Drove the Ferrari last night

Drove the Ferrari Testarossa home from a car show last night. (The owner needed a couple of extra drivers so I volunteered). First I couldn't figure out how to open the door.. lol . The handle is hidden in the side grooves. Then we couldn't figure out how to shut off the heater. (There are a bunch of little knobs and switches in the center console part that are not even labeled). I couldn't get out of the car because the inside door handle was broken. Then the clutch was slipping and needs to be replaced. Oh yeah, it doesn't have power steering either. Other than that... It was awesome. There is no other car on the road that looks like that. It's tight and there were no squeaks or rattles anywhere going over bumps and potholes. When we pulled it into the garage and put it next to his other 9 collector cars, it stood out like a red gem. Didn't get on it too much because we had to follow other cars back to his garage and because of the clutch problem. So there are some things that need a fixing. The interior is a bit archaeic compared to todays cars. The lighting was very dim. But I guess the interior was "advanced" for the 80's. The seats are firm and comfortable. The legroom is tight like the C4 Corvette. There are speakers molded into the floor on both the driver and passenger side. Oh yeah,,, that motor sounds sooo nice. It's not real loud but you hear it right behind you. Still debating though...there are things that I like and kinda don't like. One main thing still being the cost of ease of finding parts for this car. It is basically a low 13 second car which isn't that fast anymore in the realm of today's cars. BUT it is still a Ferrari. I have plenty of time on the decision making so there's no rush. Ferrari or Corvette...

If you want a "cheap" fast car go corvette. If you want a landmark in automotive design that will turn heads then the Testarossa is it.

I don't know you budget, but personally if I had the means it would be an old Ferrari over a corvette no question.

Yeah, this is definately what I'm struggling with. New technology or a car that stands out in a crowd. Both will have about the same amount of power. Though the newer Vette will probably be faster.

That's simple. Both. get the ferrari drive it for a day to increase intrest sell it buy the vette. Best of both worlds.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.
