so my car is practically sold and i have found 2 maros i can choose from

car number 1: 1997 RS black hubcaps for rims auto t-tops 126k miles $2100
car number 2: 1996 Z28 white with tan leather SS hood 86k $2300


here comes the fun the Z28 comes with an lt1 and a 700r4 that is not installed there is no motor in it its just a roller and i might buy the roller and the motor/tranny body has 112k miles on it

The Rs is ready to drive away so what should i get

i would go with car number two... the z28... faster, less miles, and leather :D as long as you get the engine...

agreed. when situations are like that, theres obviously something wrong with it.
trust me, and Im speaking from experience, your asking for problems with the z28, unless you have cash to sink into it.. go v6

i say go for the v6. can u put the motor in ur self? is everything thing there u need? how long will it take u to put the v8 in? there are so many things can go wrong. or just keep looking for another v8

I'll sell you my ,v6 for $3k... good tranny just put a motor in. :)

and its just 2000 NBM with t-tops and SS wheels.

go with the six. if i had one reason. gas mileage. gas is expensive now. and plus... its in running condition.

Got the tools, the experience, the time, and the friends to install the motor? Does the project seem like a lot of fun? Will you be proud you did it? Do you trust the seller enough that you're sure the motor and transmission is OK?

If the answer to any of the four is no or lukewarm, forget it. Don't take this on to get a car.

the guy that is selling it is also the guy that backed out of putting my cam in my buddies and i can easily put the motor in its just the electronics and all the hookups that we are nervous about

I would say get car 1...dont buy headaches...if you're going for a Z28, buy a complete running package...keep looking on the internet there are tons of camaros for sale...especially now that winter is coming.

Yeah.. but its a 98+ style has good paint, 1LEs sways, bilsteins, SS wheels, lsd, and is far more suited for a LS1 swap.


also even has a low mileage spec II clutch.



I am willing to bet the lt1 car he is looking at has bad paint, worn shocks, stock suspension, and is rolling on salad shooters.
