I need a new car...

What should I get? Right now I have my 06 GTO, 00 Firebird V6, and a 94 Z28. I've also had a C5, and a Monte Carlo in the past few months. I'm tired of the boy racer thing. It was cool for a while, but it has passed. I'm thinking either 08 C Class Mercedes or 08 BMW 335i coupe. Anyone have any other ideas? Unfortunately, Bentley Continental GT's are slightly out of my price range...

Well.... you don't say what you want out of the car.... we need to know that first.

I've driven the Mercedes 08 C350 sport, C300 sport and C300 luxury.

I brought a C350 sport home and the wife LOVES it!

I'm a big fan of the new C-Class... HUGE improvements over the past model.

My mom picked up a 04 325ci Vert. It's nice, but has no balls. I just need a cool daily driver, with minimal issues. Something to throw some rims and tints on and call it a day.

Neither and neither. I said to me. I'm not car & driver or motortrend, to me. He asked for opinions and/or suggestions. If we limited it down to just who has driven the car they are recommending then that wouldn't leave very many people would it.

Best thing I can suggest... is go to a dealer and drive a 350 sport, 300 sport and 300 luxury and then see what you think.

If you want some ballz.... then look at the 350... it should run mid to low 14's and get 30 mpg

I used to think that way.... until I got the chance to drive many different benz's.

If someone has not driven the cars then I really can't weigh much into their opinions on selecting a car.... nothing against you at all though.

And, you would be surprised.... there are a decent amount of people who can comment about these cars

Do you have any sort of price range or requirements? I'm guessing something in the $40-$50k range if you are saying 08 335i. I'll post again when I think of something else.

Don't care, I'm still gonna say 2008 CTS with the Direct Injection V6. 305ish HP, and a 6 speed manual or 6 speed auto (with AWD optional on the autos).

Bimmer starts at $38,900

The C-Class MB's are cheaper but for comparison sake, let's say the C350 $37,275 (due to power levels)

Bimmer is a 300hp/300tq 3.0 Twin Turbo 6cyl
MB is a 268hp/258tq 3.5 V6

Pretty significant power difference there, not to mention the 335i has the ability to be tuned relatively cheap to output quite a bit more.

As far as interiors, the MB is pretty bland. I mean these are both entry level cars, but come on now.




As far as looks...I'd go with BMW hands down. MB just doesn't have anything appealing to a lot of people, they're pretty bland especially the C-Class.




I left out of the equation that the few MB's I've encountered were utter pieces of sh!t. I guess every company has their lemons, they can't all be as bad as the ones I've encountered....or MB would be filing chapter 11.
