Didn't plan on it.... requirements for me this time around are:

          1. Little to no snow
          2. Nice roads for the bike

          everything else is gravy

So I'm looking for jobs outside of MI right now. I need some info from people around the country.

Looking at Denver (downtown) and Miami and Hollywood.

I need what it actually costs to live in these places. Not living in da hood either. Right now I live in a nice "country" type community north of Detroit. My drive is 25 miles one way, all freeway. In an apt with detached garage for keeping my toys. I can get to any store/fastfood/mall in 10 mins or less. I can also see deer and other critters in my yard.

What does it cost to live in these areas?

(first one to mock, post bad things, or in general something I don't like.... be warned)

Stay away from Long Island if your looking for somewhere with a low cost of living. Thats all I can say.

I used the link from the first page to see what the difference is from where I live now to where I'd like to live in the future.

The cost of living in Reading, PA is 27.7% lower than in Suffolk, NY. Therefore, you would have to earn a salary of $xxxxx to maintain your current standard of living. Employers in Reading, PA typically pay 11.0% less than employers in Suffolk, NY. Therefore, if you take the same type of job in the same type of company in Reading, PA you are likely to earn $xxxxx.
Seems like a fair trade. Cost of living is over 25% lower, pay is 10% lower. Looks like I know where I'll be going when it is time for me to get my own place.

When Bush leaves he will take his hurricane making machine and his recession making machine with him. This recession is 30 years in the making, and the worst of the making of this recession started in the 90s.

If you are looking at living in Miami, expect some of the higest cost of living around, or living in the ghetto.

Also expect 60% of the population to be Cuban/PR, the 25% black/south american/Haitian, and the rest white.

30 years in the making... i wouldn't say that... clinton actually put us on the right track, value of things started coming back, we even made money, the first time since it seems forever, but instead of continuing the track and paying off national debt, he gave it back to the people... and now we are going back farther in debt...however i don't blame the hurricane or 9/11 on him... i only put blame on his choices...

                        Re: Input needed... (non-automotive)

The problem is the country flourished insanely under clinton.

In fact... we flourished too much. We needed to raise interest rates and do other things to slow the economy. But why do that? When you term was going to be over when the economy falls, let the next president take the blame.

The economy started to slow before Clinton even left.

the economy works in cycles, it goes up and down... Steeper the up, steeper the down.

Actually its longer, then 30 years, since the 60s we have been finding less and less new oil reserves each year, even with insane amounts of advancements in technology, and were facing energy shortages then. Its all a part of the puzzle.
