Re: MP3 Player Stolen out of my Desk
.......right
For the record, I always have my cell phone in class, and most of my classes it is strictly forbidden. I'm in College so it's a little different, but I keep my phone on vibrate. The reason being I have clients calling me and they're not going to play phone tag with me, they're going to spend their money somewhere else. So I'd rather miss 5 minutes of lecture than lose commission.
Anyways I guess my point is their policy is if it goes off in class, they can confiscate it. I've forgotten to put it on vibrate before, and guess what...I didn't give up my phone. I walked out. No teacher can physically confiscate it from an unwilling student, they can only ask for it. I would never give my phone up to a teacher unless it meant not doing so would make them permanantly kick me out of the class. Part of the reason being if the teacher drops it, loses it, fucl<s it up or whatever...I can almost expect something to happen with my property in someone else's hands.
The kid was not physically forced to give up his iPod, he agreed to let it be confiscated and handed it over.
