  • The Most Frustrating Work Situation

Today it has suddenly come to my attention what the most frustrating situation is while at work.....

When a customer tells you that you are wrong.

Now I dont get pissed about much but I just had an older lady come in and order a new debit card with me. She comes up to my desk and starts the conversation off with "well I was first in line about 4 people ago!", great. I took care of it, placed the order and it came down to her signing on the dotted line. She says to me

"So I will get this card today, right?"

I told her that was not right, that we have to wait 7-10 business days because we have to get the cards from visa.

"well no, you're wrong, last time I got my card right away." (in a rude tone)

Im not one to go by the motto the customer is always right so instead i slightly chuckle as i realize how much i hate being told I am wrong and tell her straight up,

" mam, thats impossible, we have never done it that way. The fastest we can get the card is in 3 business days and there is a $60 charge from visa for that."

Ive worked here for 3 years, and its never EVER been done that way. Hell, she hasnt even been a customer for three years. Either way she left the bank saying "just forget it I dont need that card, I'll just write checks!"

You made the right choice man. I remember dealing with customers at Circuit City (worked there about 3 months), and had one dude that really challenged me. I walked away from the checkout counter on him, and told the manager to get somebody else on cash wrap. I definitely took over an hour for lunch that day too. I hate the public dude, I really do.

I used to work at a grocery store and it was the same thing. The customer is always right. It's crappy to let someone always think they're right if you think about it. Even when I'm wrong, I don't get all attitude about it. Facts are facts. It is what it is. Actually I was at the DMV the other day to renew my license. The computers were processing slow. Some folks were getting kind of impatient  . I'm sitting there like I only have to do this once, lol. What's the big deal. Can't get mad over everything. Yep, you did the right thing indeed.

Lol, yeah. Same for me. I went to the DMV last Friday. I was sitting there, looking at my time stub thing, said I had a 45 minute wait. The people behind me said geez, we gotta wait 36 minutes. I was thinkin to myself "holy crap, not 36 minutes... like you've never wasted that much time on a crappy TV show before, or something else stupid. What's 36 minutes gonna hurt. Get over it, people just need to learn to be patient, and that they aren't always right. The only time the customer should be right is if they've got more than 250 bucks tied up in the deal.

People are stupid, but a single person can go either way. A single person can either be somewhat intelligent, or f"ing dumb. Its usually the scared dumb ones that persuade the intelligent ones when they are all together.

this reminds me of when I sold cars...

this guy told me that one of the demos we were selling with a $1000 discount should be discounted like $15,000

and he wanted like $10,000 off a trade for a 1995 volvo wagon with like 115,000 miles

long story short he wanted to pay like $15,000 for a 2005 Denali brand new at the time never been registered with about 4000 miles lol

this guy was such an a-hole that my boss call him a douche bag and his son a fagggot. they stormed out

                          thats great!

I just went to a dealer today, asking about a 1984 delta 88, rusty as hell, it's been sitting there for months, after seeing your caprice up for sale i kind of want to get an old b-body...anyways, I ask them how much this beater is and they say $1,500

I tell them it's worth no more than $500 TOPS and he tries to glorify the rusted out delta into being a classic!

/thread hijack i just love used car dealerships so much

Yea you get Jack asses everywhere...The best one I had was at Canadian tire...we had these flip-flop sandles on sale for like 3.99...and they were in the wrong basket which said 4.99...and they called me to the front to do a price check...I'm half way to the front of the store when I see the lady storming down to my department and she confronts me...
Lady: Your the person from sports?
Me: yes Ma'am, what can I do for you?
Lady: I picked up these sandles and there supposed to be 3.99 and the stupid lady up front tells me they are 4.99...Who runs this place around here? you guys can't get your **** togther? I want these sandles for 3.99!!
Me: Well let me see them... (so I double check the price and take her to the bin where she found them...end up they were the only pair in the wrong home) so I try and explain to her that they are 4.99
Lady: This is Bull ****...this is false advertising...Im going to call the newspapers and get the newspapers involved...I bet everyone would love to see that Canadian tire does false advertising and lies to all there customers...You guys are going to go out of buisness...I'm going to write a letter to CP24 (news station) and have this broadcasted all over
Me: Well...technically its not false advertising, and I doubt the newspapers would cover your story...but you could always try...Im sure you'd make alot of money if it did go public though...I'll grab a manager for ya if ya'd like

Anyways managers just gave it to her for 3.99...there like wow...its a dollar...that much fuss over a single dollar....Was pretty funny though lol

I was working one day at a grocery store and i happened to be the only one in the department, and our department is huge. So I'm stocking shelves and this lady asks me where some things were that were on sale. I tell her and she comes back to tell me that there are none on the shelf...these things were not all in my department. I ask around and tell her that well "ma'am we have been out of some of this stuff all day, im sorry but you can get a slip for them and next you come in even if they arent on sale they would be for you." So she gets pissed off that we didn't have three of her items and goes and complains to the manager and it does her no good since we were out of the items anyway. Says she will never shop here again and will tell everyone not to shop at our store. Well a good week or so later...lo and behold she is back and I just go past her and smile. Some customers and just so dumb and cause more trouble that most of it is worth.
