Got him out! We put my cat in a cat carrier and let him cry like crazy. This attracted the kitten to the edge of the vent who also started crying. So it became a crying fest. :D The kitten couldn't get out for some reason. He had trouble getting back up through the opening. We had to take the molding off the bottom of the wall to give him another half inch or so. After about 40 minutes of trying to make the opening bigger and coaxing him..... finalllllllllllllllly.....he was able to climb OUT.
I used about 10 wet paper towels to clean the disgusting dirt off of him. He was purring as I cleaned him up. He got a good meal and he's in bed now (back in quaratine, the bathroom). HAPPY ENDING.

give him alot of exits. you don't want to just give him one cause he might night be able to find his way to that one vent. set up food all over so you can see which vent he is coming out of.
i took in a stray cat almost 2 years ago. she is very skitish. but she's a good cat. it really takes them a long time to get confortable. she would cape out at the door to get out, but now if i open the door she books the other way.
haha... got him out.. :D Anyway, he's calming down but still gets freightened. One minute he lays under the covers with me, purrs, and sleeps... then when he wakes up he crawls through the covers, drops on the floor and disappears under the furniture... this is gonna take some work.
