That's BS--WIth the Mallet V8 - LS1, LS2, LS7 the cornering performance of the Soltice is compromised. Even the Mallet catalog I have in front of me said so.

A GTP with a smaller pulley or a Turbo GTP would perform much better than any V8 'NUFF SAID!!!

If were talking about a Fiero performing well in a quarter mile and by all means-but he wanted a Fiero that will do both-so GTP is the best choice.

If I wanted to burn the 1/4mile then yes I agree the LS, LT1's are probably going to be the best option but as far as like Power to weight ratio the 3800Supercharged or 3.8Turbo GN will always have the advantage over the V8 simply because it lighter than a huge small block.

I have never seen a Fiero get into the 9's unless its somekind of non streetable drag car but I have seen fieros with just the 3800supercharged engine run low 12's with no mods to the engine or S/C. Turbo 4 wouldn't be a good idea unless I plan on spanking civics all day long otherwise somebody shows up with a V8 or somethin iam toast. I really wanna go with a Buick GN motor because of how much those engines can make and plus they weigh pretty decent for being a 3.8. I want my car capable of running atleast a BPU Supra if I decide to go performance.

100lbs isn't going to make that big of a difference.betwen a 3800 and the LS-1 the LSX is midmounted with a Porsche gearbox..The LS7 Solstice that Hot Rod built turned 1G on the skid pad. So who's to say a mid engine fiero with a Porsche gearbox couldn't?.. it will destory a 3800 powered car. In fact LSJ would pound the heck of of the 3800 on the corners.. I haven't heard of a 3800 making 1200hp... but the turbo LSJ's do on the NOPI circuit and this guy isn't going to need near that much.. a turbo LSJ will weight the same as the stock engine.. heck even the supercharged LSJ with a smaller pulley.. either way better than a 3800 boat anchor.. like a said only 100lb lighter than an LS-1..

100lbs isn't that much.. Aluminum > Cast Iron

The Aftermarket for the LSJ's is huge.. have you not seen what the are doing on the NOPI circuit.. you can even get the parts to go fast from GM direct.. I guarantee you can push over 700hp on the stock block with the right set up..

Yeah but that kind of setup will run up the cost very quickly thats the thing I hate about the whole tuner scene. You can make a car faster than a ferrari but it will cost more than a ferrari at the end of the day and you still drive home in whatever it is you modified.:stp:

I really want to do a rebody more though since an exotic is well out of my range until sometime in late 09. who wouldn't have more fun doing this to their fiero? http://www.kitcentral.com/pn/html/mo...view_album.php

That is toooo sweet... Looks like an incredibly fun project.. it would still run in the 20-50K range to do right.. but nice for sure

They can run more than the orginal if your not carefull with your bouget. I know theres a Diablo SV replica fiero based that costed alittle over 110k and isnt even complete yet when its all said and done it will probably be 130 or more.

Since I know Lambos very well a project like that for me would be fair:rock: I just need the time to do and the money either I will build one or in 09-010 ill buy the real deal.

Umm I don't think so.. the original has the same hp and AWD... not quite the same..lol OH yeah I was reading about the NorthStar swap.. the 4.6l Northstar weighs less than the 3800 SeriesII Supercharged by like 30lbs.. which you can make up with a twin turbo set up..and have twice the power..and sound much meaner..and the same total vehicle weight:D Design 1 Systems here in OKC does the entire swap and I think the twin turbo set up too on the north star.. pretty sweet if you ask me

A Diablo 6.0 only Dynos roughly at 385 86ish RWHP AWHP is somewhere in the mid 400's that thing is suppositly making 600hp but probably really puts down probably 500 roughly?. Lamborghinis aren't that huge on Horsepower like most othercars are. Replicas also can weigh much less than the orginal car keep in mind because the Diablo is AWD it weighs much more than the RWD models and I believe the orginal weighs nearly 4100lbs or something like that, not sure about this replica but I know for a fact it doesn't weigh more than the orginal. You can mod a Grand National with just bolt ons to spank one all day long you'll have him in a run from 0-170mph then he would take over:banana: If he can hook he can do some damage though. GN's are powerfull V6's for what they where back then keep in mind a stock GN is faster than a stock Ferrari Testarossa in the 1/4mile and thats no far from a Diablo so just think shred some weight, put that engine in a smaller vehicle.:stp:

Also iv'e chatted with the guys who built that thing and they told me that the guys who build that car one of them owned an orginal Diablo 6.0 VT and he wouldn't play with the replica, after driving it he said the replica pulled much harder than the orginal. I wouldn't doubt the power of a Lambo, I have seen personally what those cars do when drivin properly but I also wouldn't doubt a replica either.

A Northstar is the only V8 id concider but they are expensive and very difficult to install in a fiero chassis, working with Northstars are difficult period I had an 88 Sville, it was fast but had many problems with it that even the local mechinics couldn't solve, the car evenually caught fire one day at the gas station and that was the end of that story.

I know if you use a 01 STS Caddillac northstar in any fiero based project or replica the car will pull 0-60 in 3.8seconds stock!. Again avalabitly, price and instailment is an issue for me at this point but in the future I might concider if I come across one.

Hey if you can find an LC3 (XLR supercharged 4.4L pushing 440hp and 469hp) in a junkyard with computer it would be teh sickness in a Fiero with no other mods than tranny....Like I said here I have Design 1 systems who specializes in the Northstar swap into Fiero's and sells a swap Kit for any year Northstar swap.. Plus adding an LS-1 wouldn't hurt the handling of the car due to the mid engine design.. it would only keep the car more centered in turns especially if you did a Lambo Kit and stretched the frame.. Just a thought as V8 Archie has a kit for about everything and North American Exotics even makes a Tube Chassis if you want to go that route. Sounds like a fun project if you have nothing better to spend the money on..:D

4.4 out of an XLR can get very pricey its more than any LSX motor regardless of where you get it that would really hurt my bouget:rolleyes:

The only way a V8 would really be effective to its full potentual is if you do a lambo replica on a stretched chassis because thats added weight and if you stick with the orginal engine it will overheat often and you'll need more power.:stp:

The problem I have that Tube chassis by North american is its very expensive like 26k or more just to have a complete corvette setup with suspension, Brakes and powerplant. Not a bad idea considering it will weigh more much less than the orginal but I don't want to spend more than the orginal.

Yeah and finding a wrecked XLRV isn't that easy.. I know the LC3 is like 12k new... but at a junkyard I don't know...it's fun to think about though..lol
