  • What to do with my fiero

Ok heres the deal my fiero is currently undergoing a list of work from like here to denver list at the moment but it still needs more work to the wiring and I probably wont be seing it until sometime next year. this car was sitting around for 5years before I got a hold of it.

The car now runs but idols at 3600rpm but its clean under the hood the iron duke engine looks very clean as if it was brand new, the paint well lets just leather face himself did somework on it with his chainsaw. the interior is OK shape for a car that was just sitting their although it will need a headliner. It will need new wheels and tires but other than that its a pretty solid car. Its got 87k orginal miles on it.

Now I orginally bought it to build a lamborghini diablo on it but sadly those kitcar companys have all died out well most of them. My second option was drop a Grand National engine in it but those engines are impossible to get these days.

Now I just don't know what to do I basicly just got a fiero thats complete ready for modifying but I don't know what the hell iam gonna do with it since I now have the Camaro.

What would you guys suggest?. BTW no chevy small block swaps!!!.

If your up for it, try to put the LS4 in.

Be happy that your fiero runs at least. I've owned mine for over a year and have yet to get it to run.

honestly... what I would do, see if I could figure out what it takes to get it running right(doesn't look like much)

then start fixing up the easy simple stuff, work the suspension a little and do more research on swaps, start pricing out swaps and ease of swaps...

The car can be a blast, I autocrossed in one that was setup for racing, it was fun as ****.

For a motor, had the 2.8L v6. NO TB, it was blocked off, then the guy cut a hole in the top of the factory upper intake manifold. And rigged a Carb on it somehow.

gonna say the thing had less then 100 hp to the ground. I think the car was still in top 10 out of 120 cars. Course thing was gutted and had no weight, but still coudl be fun.

My 5.0 isn't my most ideal top of the line setup. I wanna build up a factory block heads/cam motor and be around 400ish hp(500 block starts to crack)

With wedding, camaro dieing, and new car. Don't have mod money. But I still enjoy the hell out of it, still pushing probably 250hp, gobs of torque and a 5 speed.

If it sits in the yard, will just annoy you.

Re: What to do with my fiero

okay, as far as Fieros go, I've only seen a 3.4L Camaro V6 swap... strange I know, but it looked awesome...
another good engine, and probably a boatload of fun would be if you could possibly find a motor out of a Cobalt SS, supercharged. just throwing ideas out there.
also, I know that Toyota made an engine for the Celica, (I think second gen Celicas) and it was the 3SGTE (I think). this engine is bad, and can be built up... probably wouldn't have any problems with fitment either.

good luck with the build!

Just for a factoid, my buddy has an 87 MR-2, and we've worked on that before and it's such a ***** working in the back with all the limited room. I remember one day it took us probably about 5-6 hours to change the alternator with 4 guys helping out. It was absolutely ridiculous!

L67 (since you don't want a small block), late GT bodywork, and a fresh paint job. Put some wheels on it and you're goooood!

                        please say it's a fastback.....

60* V6 swap.. throw a 3.4 with the heads and intake off a 3400 or 3500 on it.. the block should bolt up almost exactly as any of the factory v6's would (i believe they came with a 2.8 option???) should be a fun swap and being an almost direct bolt in will make it not impossible to do...

                              sorry 60* guys... I even had a 85 2.8L camaro, and a 94 3.4L camaro...

but you are a dumbass if you go with a 60* v6 unless you get it free or something...

L67... they are cheap, bunch floating around, 240 stock, upgradeable to 300 modded. Proven pretty reliable (though I am not 100% in agreement with 3.8L series II reliabilty)
