Correct me if I'm wrong, but looking at the headers and reading the thread, the cat DOESN'T fit anymore. This appears to be a cat deleted mod.

If that's the case, then there are 2 more problems to contend with. Check Engine light (codes) and Emissions inspection failure.

alot of states don't have emis. there will be coded. but they can be delete or just not showing depending on your tune.

if the car is a daily driver, these arn't the way to go. but if it's aweekend car, and you can pay someone to pass your car for emiss. then it's well worth it

that's pretty expensive. I wonder what the $ to hp ratio is? If anybody posts up some good numbers I'll have to build me some.

However, now you need to pay for tuning software in addition to the $850 or whatever they cost, which is very expensive. Also, getting someone to pass your car through an emissions inspection is not do-able in NJ even if you know the person. The car is run on a dyno (or) a hose is put into the exhaust to read the hydrocarbon count. There's no faking that. If the count is too high, you FAIL. And with no catalytic converter, you can bet that the car will be illegal. Third, no cat is a Federal Offense which means if you get caught, you will be HEAVILY fined thousands of dollars. I was told by a reputable dealership that no cat = $10,000 federal fine.

I went to the inspection station 3 months ago and they didn't put a stick in the exhaust. BUt rather they have this new tool that goes in the OBD II slot. I guess it pulls up all the information they request. NJ = NO bull crap!

I believe that system is used for newer cars.

but yea....not even corvette ls2 headers run for that much.
Oh really? if C6 headers were that much I'd already have some.

C6 headers run between 1300 and 1700 for header and x-pipe.

The price is spot on with what I thought it would/should be.

I wouldn't pay that price for headers. Long or short tube. First, (although they look nice now) they will not look like that once they heat up and get dirty in the engine bay, second they are WAY overpriced, and third, there won't be that much of a difference between those and short tubes anyway UNLESS perhaps you have some MAJOR power adders. Even then, a couple of horses? By the time you get done reworking your entire exhaust, you could be paying in excess of $2,000 to do it right by the time you get the rest of the piping, cat, dual exhaust/muffler, clamps, welding, ect.. And on a stock car, I don't see there being that much of a gain. I'll opt for a cutout instead, if I do anything to the convertible. Open exhaust and loud when I want it to be.

Props to them for doing a nice job, but I think they'll be hard pressed to sell a lot of them due to cost alone. Most people that own a V6 fbody don't have a lot of money to throw around. Then there's the bang for the buck theory. You could do a nitrous kit for that price and have 100 extra horse on demand. But now we're talking apples and oranges I suppose. ;) Either way, someone better press them for some #'s.
They have not been dynod yet. I was going to be the dynocar for them, but other things have come up and I've decided to drop out of the V6 racing game...so another person will be dynoing them very soon with numbers being put up before/after.

SLP headers (for a C6) are $744.99 on TByrne's site. The other brands he carries are around $950. An x-pipe is around $240 bucks. Scroll down. You might want these.

i had a feeling the headers were made overseas, thats why the 3 month and large quantity wait. after i said that i was immediately flamed.
