Re: Long Tube Headers for 3.8 (info)

Things don't add up when C6 headers are that much money. Again, props to whoever made them. They are no doubt nice-looking. But the cost and additional issues to contend with are not worth it in my opinion. I need a car to be "street legal". Otherwise, I would just gut my cat, throw $400 headers on it and take my chances with the cops. But that ain't happening for an extra 10 hp. I think a better/cheaper option would be a high flow cat and a cutout OR just the cutout by itself. Loud and open when I want it to be but still sporting a catalyst. That's what I'm thinking with my 02'.

Also, very rarely do you see companies sell a performance product without dyno numbers. These headers were not created without a test fitter. Why wasn't the car immediately taken to a shop to be dynoed after all of that work? Why take everyone's money and then claim to do some dyno runs after collecting? I would NEVER pay that kind of money on a performance product that isn't proven. That's just me. Who knows, maybe they were created elsewhere which is why they weren't tested yet.

As painful as it is, I have to agree with Shirl. Something like headers are something that need to be tested if they are going to be "mass produced" for optimum performance. A custom set would be fine as they are, but this needs to be tested. I don't trust someone with a bender and a welder to make my pipes if I don't think they will work.

C6 headers run between 1300 and 1700 for header and x-pipe.

The price is spot on with what I thought it would/should be.

        INTERNET BARGAINS > YOU :slap:

my friend bought some C6 SLP HEADERS for way cheaper than that.
