Anyone have to take this every day? Just switched from taking Vicoden ES 7.5/750 4 times a day to taking the Oxycodene 5mg 3 times a day. I was taking too much tylenol with the Vicoden and having more liver and stomach problems. So far it seems to be working better on my pain, lower back degeneration of my discs. I see the Ortho Pedic Surgon next Monday to get refered to pain mangement for injections for my back, I hope this gets me somewhat pain free. I'm also thinking of ditching this 6 year study at the Mayo Clinic on PFO's( hole in the haert ) and getting my hole in my heart closed. Now if they could only repair the parts of my dead brain tissue, I would be good as new. Sorry for my ramblings my medication get to me sometimes. Back to Oxycodene anyone have any experience with it?

Yeah I have experience with it. Only recreational experience really though

I'd say i'm pretty knowledgeable on the topic at hand though, so do you have any questions about it?

Basically, the vicodin you were taking was 7.5 mg of hydrocodone and 750 mg of acetaminophen. The oxycodone (which is percocet) is just 5 mg of oxycodone and 325 (I think) mg of acetaminophen. Both are opiates, percocet is the stronger of the two.

makers of oxycodene just settled a major major law suit for lying about the addicting affects it has on individuals.

I think the main thing to do (recovering from a herniated disc here) is get some painkiller on it's own, not paired with tylenol. Once you separate them, you can take enough of the opiate you need without od'ing on tylenol.

And for my back, tylenol was useless anyway. Ibuprofen worked the best, followed by Aleve. Didn't try plain old aspirin though.

The only over the counter med I can take in low dose is tylenol. Due to the Warfin I take and other meds. Asprin will cause my blood to go thinner and ibprofen will cause internal bleeding. So I was kind of screwed with over the counter medicine. Thats why they could only go with the Oxycodene.

dude, i hate medications. i got prescribed oxycodone and hydrocodone at the same time. took about three each over the period of 2 weeks.

edit: it was prescribed for my dislocated wrist and broken arm. that really sucked when they set it. pulled my hand to set the wrist which pulled my broken arm bone apart even further. friggin rookie go-cart track.
