Re: alright maybe a noob question but here it goes? why Z28?
Zochoten is one of the four Japanese Shintenno, a group of fierce-looking gardian deities who protect the four cardinal directions. Zochoten literally means "lord who expands, lord who enlarges." From this, the "Z" car, or a vehicle possessing expanded performance over the standard, was formed. Chevrolet simply followed this trend by badging the performance versions of their vehicles with a Z... Z28, Z26, Z24, Z71, Z06, etc.

^that's a cute story, but Z28 is just the RPO (Regular Production Order/Options) code for a V8 camaro. Names that actually have meaning, like RS and SS, don't appear on the RPO sticker...Z28 does howeverLast edited by Smoke Panther; 12-19-2007, 02:54 PM.
