Am I the only person here that thinks gun control should be on the backburner right now? Im thinking a war, a degredated social security system, a pathetic health and welfare system, and a poor educational system would be a better issue to discuss....but we have to worry about guns.

Im sorry, I am pro gun, pro NRA, but its an issue that has little or no effect on our more serious problems.

Do I feel that gun control is a bigger issue than a war, our emormous trade deficit, and our ever sufficating national debt? The fact that we are losing blue collar jobs by the thousands? That our elderly cannot afford their medicine, and that for all purposes, social security is doomed (and if you take out the creative accounting, already operating in the red)?

therefore, i feel it is always an important issue and is reflected in the way I vote...

I mean, I don't even own a gun (rifle nor a handgun, too young for a handgun still) and feel that owning a gun is no harm to anyone. The people that misuse guns are the people who get them sketchy ways anyway.

I'm sorry that you've had bad luck, but I can count Iceland, England, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, and even the Azures as not being that way. Of course diffrent areas could be diffrent. There are places here in the U.S. I can't go because I'm white, so just because there are people there that dont like us doesn't mean the masses are that way. Just like anything else you hear about the bad cases and not the good ones. You mentioned a few Italians that messed with some marines, did you ever see a toys for tots type of campaign over there were there were hundreds of families estatic that you were there. My point is there is two sides to every story and every thing can be turned around to look another way. How many fights do you see in bars here? Does that mean that americans dont like americans, no it means group of drunks did something anoher group of drunks didn't care for and thats the excuse. Remember Newtons law, For every action there is an equal or greater re-action.

Next on my list of things to rant about, Health Care. National NO, Government assistance for senior citizen, absolutely. I'm talking about a %80 assistance for any medical related cost to anyone over 55.

If healthcare wasn't a problem before doing something like this would make it one. People 55 are perfectly capable of working, if there not thats another story..

As stated earlier.. just a bunch of clowns attempting it this year.. On Democrats log you have a Socialist, A man who will neither swear on the Bible or say the Pledge of Allegiance, along with an ambulance chaser.. And I don't even want to go into the Republicans.. This election will be a complete disgrace as none of these candidates are qualified to lead a child to the bathroom let alone the most Powerful nation in the world.

I will never vote for ANY person that swears on a bible. Republican or Democrat. Church and state should be separate. I know if I vote for the Democrat, atleast someone gives a damn about the poor and the little people. No more republicans. Better to have 1 moron running the country than a whole party.

I think anyone who thinks that there are "power mongers" running right now needs to think about this. Don't worry about what this next presidency is going to do for you, worry about what it will do for us as a whole. Some of us need gov't intervention. Stop worrying about the freedoms you will lose, because there are people here now that haven't even had a chance to express those freedoms.

i definitely had good experiences along with bad ones. my point is just that people overseas do in fact have a lot of "ammunition" that they can use against us. with italy, for example, Berlusconi tried his hardest to be on bush's good side. because of this, americans always thought we had italy on our side. but in reality, the people in italy were really pissed that they got dragged into the war. ESPECIALLY when the first bus full of 18 year old italian kids doing their mandatory year of service got blown up in iraq. Trust me... i was in the middle of the procession down the main street in rome to go to their funerals.

A lot of people in other countries are mad at us, because we get into issues such as this... their leaders have pretty much no choice but to go along with us (because if not, we basically put them out of commission) and then they get dragged into it. I just think we need a leader who will do something at least to try to improve our image overseas.

F*** that. No....no WAY should this be a concern. I personally don't give two s***s about how some foreign state sees us. For what we have done, and the sacrifices WE have made? Our foreign image is just fine, if someone doesn't like us, who cares. Again, I still don't see why we even need these people. Give me one commodity or resource that italy has that we can't get here. Their so called ammunition only hurts if you give a damn about what they have to say, or if they have something of GREAT importance to every American. As far as I am concerned, Italy with the rest of Europe can go screw themselves.

You forgot to mention the illegals, the jailbirds, welfare abusers, and anyone else they can get a vote from. I'm sick and tired of almost half of my paycheck going to the lowlifes who don't want to work and "claim" it is because they are poor. I know there are poor people out there working for a living that "might" need it, but I can easily name a handful of people that I know of, off the top of my head, that have had children out of wedlock but won't get married so that they can get a chunk of money from the government every month. MY MONEY!! You know the ole saying: Keep working. There are millions on welfare that depend on you. It is a parasitic society. I don't usually get involved in these discussions. But this is one thing that has made me ill every time I look at my paycheck as I'm sure it has with everyone else that WORKS for a living.

And religion... I believe that the loss of faith in the schools, workplace, and society in general is what has destroyed this country, our morals, beliefs and kindness toward each other in the first place. How can anyone think it is ok to teach our children to be discourteous, to steal, to lie, and to destroy other people's property without remorse or recourse? To not have to stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance because they "don't feel like it"? I have students that won't even pick up their own garbage off the floor and even throw their gum and paper in the sinks! What the hell are these kids being taught at home? These are the issues that bind or separate society and because of the lack of religion or faith or whatever you would like to call it, things have gone right to "hell".

Our wonderful governor of NJ, who is a democrat, has abolished the death penalty, raised our sales tax, our tolls, and is using millions of dollars of our money to fund useless childcare programs to waste our money. We pay the highest insurance premiums and property taxes in the United States and our jails are overcrowded with felons, molestors, and murderers that will probably be set free after doing a little time. Oh, yeah, did I mention, that he DIDN'T even listen to the way the people of NJ voted on certain issues? We voted AGAINST using more of our money for stem cell research and open space. Well, I guess that didn't matter to him. He'll use our money anyway and go about doing both even though the state of NJ has spoken. This is a great person to have in office. And what angered me even more in this election was the fact that the NJEA (Education Association) had the nerve to call my phone number and tell me to vote for this loser. Once he got in, he cut funding to the education system. Serves the NJEA right. He must have paid them off to get more votes and then slapped them in the face.

I'm not sure if ANYONE is fit to be in a high ranking government position such as president or governor for that matter. I'm only mentioning a few points of concern in an overwhelming sea of issues.
