and as far as that letter goes. wow. so just because people didnt support our war, we should stop giving them aid? that is one of the most disgusting ideas ive seen so far. we dont help other countries just so when we get ourselves in a war we shouldnt have, we know someone has our back! we do it because as ive stated earlier, we are one of the superpowers. we benefit from this, etc.
and as far as trading goes... we have a lot of trade agreements with LDC's that WE benefit from. we dont just do it for them. morocco for instance. the free trade agreement with morocco is great for both countries. in addition to economic aspects, it provides us with a positive tie to groups such as the Arab League, and the Arab Maghreb Union. theyre also a part of the league of african nations, if im not mistaken.
I just dont understand this whole superiority thing that we have going on. yes, we are a superpower... but people think that we can just drop out of all of the groups like the UN that 191 other countries are a part of? we need them just as much as they need us.

    ok. im ranting. sorry

Re: who do you want for president

I'm note voting for ANY democrat. I keep an eye on what they're bickering about but my vote WILL go to a republican. The problem with the democrats is they can stop fighting within they're own party. Thats like putting a man with a nervous disorder in charge. Not to say republicans are perfect, they're to damn gung-ho to change something. What that something is seems to be a mystery to me.

Heres how I'm deciding my vote

My 1st priority for a president is someone who has a clear cut plan to safely exit Iraq and leave a strong national government in place.

Next is education, we need to spend money on raising the level of education in our nation. We have the most intelligent people in the WORLD right here. But the ratio of genius to dumbass is dismal. Obviously lengthening the school day is making matters worse, "No child left behind" is an abomination, and the intelligence levels and teaching skills of the average teacher are laughable. We need to elect a candidate that will spend money on researching new teaching methods that WORK.

The next big issue is gun control. I'm for a system that is simple and effective. What needs to happen is every gun should be fitted with a tracking device that will send a 911 signal to a police hub if removed. the restrictions that stand now should be left in place. Now do me a favor, Forget about your feelings on guns, forget about your political aliance and think like a criminal. Now you need a gun, your going to rob a near by store. You can purchase a gun at a licensed dealer, or you can talk to that shady guy you met in a bar the other day. Your going to go for the guy from the bar. Todays laws require a Firearms ID card to purchase a weapon at a dealer. To acquire one you have to be finger printed at a local police station and pass a background check. ANY...ANY...ANY felony automatically disqualifies you, and any drug or violent misdemeanor will also. So now your going to get the black market gun that is not traceable back to you. Therefor defeating ANY law put in place. who do gun laws effect and in some cases hurt, law abiding citizens.
      Article [II.]
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

part 1 A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State
meaning a militia if our state need it

part 2 the right of the people to keep and bear Arms
meaning the right to own a weapon and use it

part 3 shall not be infringed.
meaning the government can not take away the afore mentioned rights in any degree or limit or inhibit the right to own a weapon

Next on my list of things to rant about, Health Care. National NO, Government assistance for senior citizen, absolutely. I'm talking about a %80 assistance for any medical related cost to anyone over 55.

Now on to Illegals, catch em, send em back. Increase border control, which creates jobs for Americans.

Out sourcing, Offer American companies Tax deductions for every 100 American citizens they employ.

alright thats all I can think of for now. like I said thats what I want, and I'm voting based on THAT not who's from where or who gets slammed less. thats it.

If we know they're here and who they are...they need to be arrested and deported. Its not fare to those who come here legally. Its also bad for the economy and lessens the value of the dollar thats they come ere, work and send our money back to their country. that needs to be dealt with as well

simple? that sounds a little complex to me. i dont own a gun. (only 19) so i can only own a rifle. i dont just because i dont have the money for it. when i turn 21 i will be getting a handgun (springfield 1911 here i come!) i just hope that the next president doesn't screw me over. (yeah right.) i'm joining the coast guard soon. and if the next pres. screws me over i'm gonna be pissed. Australia, here i come!

I meant manufacturers would be required to place it in all newly made weapons, not recall every gun

Thats the point I am trying to make, we don't NEED THEM. There is very little that we need outside of our own borders. We have oil, a workforce, the ability to reconstruct a manufacturing base. We have all we need within these borders. But we would rather do it CHEAPER, splitting the middle class in half, creating more unemployment, more poor, less educated people. We do not need the UN. The UN has gotten us in more trouble than we need. What the hell does Morocco and Africa have that we dont? Sand?

I share most of your views, for the exception that I cannot see a remote device being placed on a gun. I work in the Communications industry...that would be something so impractical that it wouldn't be worth it. The whole problem with those views are that these are backburner view for most republicans, and share more in common with democrats.

but the democrats position, or lack thereof is not suitable to lead a nation. I'm talking about doing away with gun laws in the larger sense. just keeping ways to track possible criminals.

Non of the current candidates are worth voting for.. If I had to vote I'd vote for Fred Thompson.. but it doesn't look like he's even going to be close to getting the nod from the Republicans.. It's a bigger circus than I have seen in years.. just a bunch of clowns running.. Anyone who votes for Hillary votes for an elitist socialist.. well you get the idea.. Oh yeah.. for you gun control advocates.. Guns don't kill people... People kill people.. GET OVER IT!!!!!! If they don't use guns they will use whatever is available if they want someone dead.

Re: who do you want for president

Am I the only person here that thinks gun control should be on the backburner right now? Im thinking a war, a degredated social security system, a pathetic health and welfare system, and a poor educational system would be a better issue to discuss....but we have to worry about guns.

Im sorry, I am pro gun, pro NRA, but its an issue that has little or no effect on our more serious problems.

Count me in on this one as well. For the record, I own a freakin' arsenal and support the NRA. For me, gun control is being about to hit the ****er that's trying to harm my family.
