why street racing is so stupid.

    http://www.wftv.com/news/14959532/detail.html

If it were just two ricers that would have been one thing but one of the morons was a camaro. I drive near there 5 days a week now I have to be even more vigilent to watch my speed and everything else. Stupid people :spank:

idiots. there was just a drag racing accident in philly(where i drive to work everyday) on new years eve that killed a few people. it was a eclipes and another ricer.

why is it usually the ricers that lose control? **not joking**most of the time when there is a drag racing accident the on to lose control is the rice. ne one else notice this?

i have never agreed with street racing in largely populated areas or on major roads not only do you put everyone else in danger, the cops are always were you cant see them, with that being said i believe that a race in an abandoned industrial park, or on road where there is nothing literally nothing but the road and your cars, if someone feels the need to race who are somewhat mature we go to one of these spots since the nearest track is over 2 hrs away and 35-40 bucks is alot when you make 200 a month in college, i really wish there was somewhere where me and my buddies could race where it is safe and sanctioned by the police but there is not i haev written letters to lawmakers but they would rather give tickets and see people potentially get hurt then dig into their pockets a little and let us race legally, what happened to the boy is not right and should have never happened but until people give us better alternatives that are more affordable it is going to keep happeneing

guessing its probably for a few reasons,

#1 most are out to prove something (how high HP their cars are.)
#2 rice USUALLY only races rice (Z's,Tans Ams, gt's, etc not worth the time.)
#3 they run ****ty tires on their ebay rims
#4 they run DR's on the street
#5 most have never raced at a track, only the street. No experience at those speeds + bumpy, windy, etc road = epic rice pwnge.

Most likely because 90% of the time its rice getting into the street races...plus alot of those vehicles have mods that are done half a** done and that leads to problems....what do you expect, have you seen half the junk in these cars...Ive seen cars that have swapped rims but only used 2 bolts to secure each rim down...asking for trouble? Not to mention what UDLOSE said most of these guys have never been to a track and dont know how to control there cars at highspeeds...factor that in with potholes, bumps, wind, rain, etc...and this is what you get, innocent people dead

:( wow... i hate when stupid people do something that puts other in danger... they don't even consider the possibilities of what could happen... if you wanna race so bad, take it to a track... or at least away from others, where you could only harm yourself... :(

oh... and my girlfriend has a stock 93 eclipse too (something around 95 hp? its a gs (nonturbo-ed)) and her and everybody in her family thinks it would kill mine in a race... :)

Re: In case you needed one more reason...

the thing about street racing is yeah they might do it to prove their "horsepower" and they might not have the money to do it at a track, but my question to them is, if you dont have the money to race it at a track...you might in the wrong hobby, going fast = money...no matter how you look at it, so if you cant afford to race it legally at a track you need to find something new to do with your time

Well that's the kicker. There is a track less than 30 minutes away from where they were at. Since it's florida I would assume it's open all year around but I've never been. Can't take the chance of ruining my daily driver.
