I believe the wheels are off a Second gen also. More than likely from the 1975-1981 range. i remember on midnight club dub edition i always built that '81 camaro cause it looks so close to my '79 and it has those "type" wheels on it. I would tell ya what the stock wheels on mine were but it already had drag wheels. ANYWAYS.........Very nice find for a project car, shouldn't be a pain to restore. Good luck w/it.

I paid 3,000 It took me a long time to find one in this good of consition for that price. It does need work, but it will be fun, there is very little rust, none under the car. I am a teacher, and I also run my the schools car club, so I have plenty of kids to help me along the way.

                        Thanks for all your input

                            Josh congrats on the chevelle.

Niko, there is way more to restoring a car than body work. Even with a solid body, it still will cost $$$. You have to order a lot of stuff from restoration companies and it adds up quick. Before you even get into the good stuff like rebuilding the engine, you be replacing shocks, springs, bushings, ball joints etc. Then the rear suspension, brakes, brake lines. Then you'll want to put in some gears in the rearend, but while your at it, give it a complete rebuild etc. Then you'll want to add a new cam, heads etc. It adds up. Then all those missing trim pieces and/or screws you'll need, not to mention fixing all the little hack jobs someone performed years ago before you bought the car. I have 15 g's into my 69 camaro and I haven't painted the car yet.

You'll probably be in touch with the folks at ground up

my 69' camaro looked great until the paint was sanded off, the quarter panels were made of putty, not metal

Thanks for the good notes; It will be a ton of work and money. There is body work to be done and some rust to get rid of; Thats what I can tell before we get the paint off, we will see. I have to do the brakes first, they are bad.
