man.. that sucks... i liked Dodge... and Chrysler... and i loved the viper... i am sad to think muscle cars are a dieing bread... i blame the fast and furious movies... now everybody wants economy cars :D lol... i don't want it to end... economy cars and the new hydrogen and hybrid cars are junk in my opinion... i will get a nice muscle car... even if i have to pay more... or its European :)

EURO FTW!!!! haha, I was tellin my friend the other day, when they dont make gas powered cars anymore, I guess i'd have to switch up to a Hybrid engine in the camaro LOL .....

lol... ha... i would put a diesel engine in and power it with expensive peanut oil before i put a hybrid electric/hydrogen engine in my camaro :D

viper is my favorite car of all time. this is sad. ive wanted viper since i was 5...and that was in 1993

ill still own one some day. they are just too baddassss not too

I'm so pissed now, I love the first gen Vipers. I have not been a huge fan of the new body design but think they did wonders with the motor. They should have not try to compete with the vette head on head and stayed the course of less ammenities and more balls. I wish I was in a situation to go buy one today just to have one more car sold. 2008 officially sucks as of now!!!

Well I guess I should weigh in...
The c6s corvettes are really fantastic cars. The Z06 is really quite nice.
The Zr-1 will be totally badass. I love them.
The Viper is a one of a kind car, the fact that they don't sell that many of them makes it what it is. Rare. There are so many vettes on the roads that if you had a parking lot full or Zr-1s and just one viper, the viper would almost erase the vettes from vision.

Not to mention it is essentially the last of a dying breed of fairly lightweight, large CI, RWD cars with no traction control or electronics. Purely a driver's car.

BUT, that might be a good thing since your average Joe will put a viper on it's lid during their first drive.
Sad to see it go, but I am ok with it!

Well Dodge has terminal cancer now its only a matter of time before they go under like AMC did back in the day.


Either way I could build a better car than the Z06 or ZR1 its called an Ultima GTR, it will be about as cheap but much faster than any production model vette made.

had more sales than the viper... :) lol... but i would take a viper over a neon anyday... and the ultima GTS looks awesome... even though its more of a kit car, but you can get them premade from the factor with a porsche transaxle and a chevy small block v8 from American Speed. sweet looking though, and way fast: "Fastest road car over the 1/4 mile: 9.9 seconds

Nope, I don't really care too much about drag racing anymore. It will see the road racing tracks many, many times, just not the drag strip.

I have to say that in the short term it makes great business sense not to dump resources into a hand built money loser. In the long run however if Chrysler doesn't step it up with their vehicle this will be pointed out as the beginning of the end for them.
Personally I believe in halo cars so long as they aren't too removed from the rest of your line. In this case the viper is so far removed from the rest of the line that it's not funny, however if they dropped the v10 for a bigger v8 Hemi or something more in line with the rest of their offerings perhaps it would make a better business case. But below they viper they have the SRT8 charger and that's a big jump.

ahh well all opinion, I honestly think that Chrysler now has alot going for it if the folks at Cerebrus don't drop the ball they can make a killing if they turn the company around.
