I went skiing about 5 or 6 times when I was a kid, and took up snowboarding at about 12. Can't say I ever got decent though. It seems I go so rarely that I have to relearn everything each time I go.
started snowboarding last year, and just got my own snowboard for x-mas this year.
got this:
pretty good board.
i'm in my ski and snowboard club at school. for 200 dollars we get 6 trips to some ski resorts around here.
its pretty awesome stuff, i love trail riding, but also hitting the rails and jumps.
strt- you know where its at. we've done breck the past few years. it got boring last year, so we ventured over to a basin. so much fun. i dont remember what it was called, but did you hit those slopes that come down through the trees to the lower lift thats down at the base? i dragged my dad down them, and he wouldnt talk to me for a few days!
crazed- you wont be disappointed with a burton board. i just got a new board, and its the first time i havent had a burton since i started snowboarding 11 years ago... what kind of bindings do you have? bindings make a BIG difference.

thanks, it seems like a great board right now.
I have Burton Custom bindings. They have the toe strap.
I like em, but for some reason when I first started riding on it, the toe strap kept on popping up onto my foot.
The toe strap "fastener" doesnt really seem to do its job to well, but I've found ways around it.
by "toe strap" do you mean the one that doesnt go over the foot, but rather is a cap on the front of the boot?
like this
if so, it shouldnt pop up. you just have to play around and find the best position for it. i find that i can keep mine as far down as possible, and they work great. i have the P1 carbons, so it has that kind of toe strap also.

How do you like the toe straps compared to the traditional bindings? Any advantage?
I've been snowboarding for 7 years now. I don't get to go as often as I want because only a few of my friends ski or board. Just yesterday I met a guy at my work who is a ski patroller at Whiteface mountain. He said just give him a call anytime before I head to the mountain and he'll leave me tickets at the booth. Can't beat that deal!

to be honest, i wouldnt really know. i bought a cheap pair of traditional burton freestyle bindings a few years ago, just because my board was still being shipped back from italy, so i bought a cheap setup. other than that, ive never used "traditional" bindings. ive had flow bindings since i started snowboarding. the P1 carbons are my first pair of non-flows.
from what i can tell, the toe strap is great. it holds the boot in really tight with great control, but it doesnt push down on your foot. on flat mountain passes, my foot would cramp up with other bindings sometimes, because im on my edges and the strap was pressing down on my foot. with the toe strap, that doesnt happen.
if youre looking to get new bindings, i would wait until burton puts angled back plates on all of their bindings. they didnt have them when i bought mine, and i wish i had waited. very innovative, and definitely makes a difference.

i think you need the EST binding. from what ive heard, it is a very smooth ride. apparently it also lets you determine the position of the bindings that you like the most.
i dont know that much about it. Im curious to see what people think when it gets a bit bigger (if it does...)

Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
