I've got the GT2 cam. Total for the install for me was just under $1K, including gaskets and all. If I were you, I'd also get a used set of heads to clean up, or even have a machine shop port abit. Then gasket match the intake manifolds, and use the remaining cash on a tune. Boom, 13 second car, easily.

i put a cam in my other car for $170 which included the lifters
I'd probably do a motor rebuild, just to be safe, since my Z28 has a little over 122k on it and buy an SLP Loudmouth 2 catback for it. And, if I have any money remaining, maybe some gears and a tune.
-Make sure I was financially secure and if I lost my job I would be good for at least 2-3 months
-Pay off bills
-Make sure credit cards are manageable
-Pay a chunk towards my car, to help pay it off early, maybe even refinance for a better loan, but same car payment.
-make sure I had a 401k setup through work, or set up a IRA with some money.
-buy a 24 pack of yuengling for $15
Then....
-see if I can get a project car I can afford, because racing your DD sucks if you really need a DD
-Make sure I have a set plan for my car not just throwing money/parts at it because I can.
$10? -make my own intake, for cheap
$75 installed? -get a cutout on the stock catback because, well most v6s sound crappy with exhaust, its nice to have the performance but not ALL the time, especially if its your DD
$100ish? -Some pricier wax/polishes(not off the shelf stuff, believe me its worth the money)
$30? -ebay clear corners, or blackouts(whatever goes with your car)
$75-125? -Used shifter if its a 5-speed
$100-400? -used rear with zexel diff in it, maybe some 3.42s.
$300-800? -nice set of used wheels with decent tires(10-spokes, zr1s, z06s, C6s, C5 thin spokes, list is endless)
$20, maybe $50 for 32mm? -30/19mm stock z28 sways, if you find a deal get a 32mm front sway.
$100? -aluminum driveshaft

:tup: A man with his priorities in order. I would also add: INVEST. Make your money work for you.
depends on your needs...I believe the Gt2 and abbott racing N/a are better choices, but again depends what you want...go over to advance tech and read the stickies there....a lot of good info...or search who actaully has that cam and see there experiences with it...
