bring those parts along with that heap you call a car to my house next weekend. I'll be doing my springs.
with 2K, i'd have myself a stock engine/tranny rebuild...with the remaining money, i'd prolly get myself some firebird door panels, or get me a trans temp guage, and maybe a fuel pressure guage...i figure with a 200K mile car, its a good idea to watch out for these things...
BTW, anybody know how much it costs to have a basic stock rebuild done? i'm steady creepin my way to 210,000 on the odometer lol
That would depend on the current mods on your car and your goals for it.
A newer 600cc street bike will be faster than your car ever will, but also more dangerous and only usable part of the year.
IF I had a stock 3.8 Camaro and $2000 That I had to make it faster:
First I'd hope it was a Y87 so I had 3.42s and LSD
I'd probably buy everything used to begin with, but here goes!
SLP Intake - $150
RKSport Headers - $300
Straight Pipe - ? I know a shop ?
Flowmaster 3" Catback - $250
Automatic - Stall converter/Manual - Spec/Centerforce clutch - $500 Dry Nitrous Setup - $400
Drag Radials on Salad shooters - $300
Lower Control Arms - $100
Total = $2000 and I estimated on the high side on some of that used........because you still need gaskets, fluids, etc.
Stock to solid 13 second car 2k possible 12s depending on nitrous shot and racing conditions
WOW, look at the post in the nitrous section. That kit is going for $1550 How do you make a $400 Nitrous setup work...
2002 Navy Blue Metallic Blue Firebird A4

Cause the guy wanted every safety piece known to man. A bare bones dry kit can be had for under $400 new. It's not rocket science. I've used as bare bones as possible.
NOS Dry Nozzle and -3AN line - $10 on ebay
10lb bottle -$80 on ebay
NOS Super PowerShot Solenoid - $40 on ebay
16ft -4AN feed line $35 on ebay
Misc wires and connectors $20
$185 has you spraying quite reliably. I ran 125 on that setup for at least 2 seasons.

Very Nice, and thanks.
I sorta thought, if you used alot of common sense you could run nitrous for a decent price. Glad to see somebody, with experience, post it.
I didn't see the part in Nachius' post where he said "used", thanks for that
