Anyone have one? My dad is looking to buy a new car and is considering the Malibu. I've read a few reviews online that all seem to mention good things... but I'm curious if anyone has any first hand experience with the car or has test driven one, to know what you think. Thanks guys!

I've always looked at the Malibu as the chicks version of the Impala, but the new ones are pretty sexy...girl at work drives an older one and shes likes it...

Re: 07-08 malibu?
They are good vehicles. The new 08s have been "face lifted" have a nicer interior and exterior. But I think they cost a bit more on average. And with all the hype, I think dealers are going to make it a little harder to haggle.
They are basically the Saturn Aura, Pontiac G6, and the Chevy Malibu. All the same platform/car. Hell the Aura and G6 look very similar from the rear.
'08s are ok looking I guess, but I prefer the G6. And I was able to work alot when I bought my G6.
Stickered $22k, after rebates, $1k GM card, and haggling got it for $16,500, about $18k out the door after fees.
As always, I feel Pontiacs are a little bit more "upgraded" Chevys, with more options and such. The Saturns look real nice but I think they are a bit more expensive.
Either way I have a G6 Sedan with 3.5L VVT and A4. I like it, 224hp, pretty quick. But the 3.6L and 6 speed auto with 250hp gets more hype, as it would. If it matters or not I like the 3.5L a little more because it is a pushrod v6.
Other then that, the interiors are roomy, I am 6'5 320 lbs, its one of the main reasons I got a G6 over alot of other cars. Car is peppy, probably coul have taken my camaro out from a roll.
If he likes the Malibu exclusively by looks I guess get one but I think they are both a little ugly. If he likes the cars, tell him to at least go check out the others, and try and work out some deals.
G6s are not selling too great and don't get much press, so I was able to get lots of rebates and haggle to hell. But the car is still Consumer Reports Reccomended, and a "good" car with lots of good ratings.

07 vs 08.. 08 all the way. The improvements are to vast to pass up is she is really considering malibu. Go drive some and you will see for yourself.\:wavey:
2lt package is the best for the money and mid year the hybrid is out. I prefer the v6 with the 6speed tranny w/paddle shifts. better power to weight ratio IMO.
Let me know if you need any info on a malibu. Glad to help2006 Mustang Premium GT - Legendary Green - LLR#00321
