- I recorded movies onto my DVR off HBO.
- I plugged said DVR into my computer via S-Video.
- Set up Media Center Live TV to accept incoming S-Video signal.
- Hit play on the DVR, movie starts playing in Media center, thinks it's "Live TV".
- Hit record in media center so its recording the "show".
- Media Center asks, "Do you want to burn this show to DVD?" Yea sure, why not.
- Sorry, cannot burn DVD, show content is copyright protected.
What? How? How does it know that? What's the difference between that, and me feeding it an S-Video signal from my video camera? How would it know the difference? Does video signal carry a copyright signal?
