This is for a stripped down, base vette. If you're buying a new vette you will definitely regret not getting the options.

$100k for a vette, lol canada is wierd.

and power to weight ratio is an important thing. Don't mistake it with the gay, hp per liter argument.

what good is a 1500 hp engine, if your ****ing car weighs 70 tons and still runs 16.5s in the 1/4?

I'd rather have an under 3k lbs. vette with 300-350 hp

If you guys don't think power to weight ratio is an important factor, then your dumber then dog****. that is why a pussy 400 hp pussy 5.0 in a stripped fox, can out run a 500 hp full weight f-body.

Or an f-body with less hp, can beat a sherman tank of a GT500.

I understand that power to weight ratio is important, Im not denying that at all, Im saying I would much rather have the 620hp vette, and be lighter as well, or at the very least have the 505hp...think bout it man, if the vette drops to 300-400hp...then what are the camaros going to come with? not the 400hp they will be getting in 2009...you cant have camaro's and vettes with the same hp, even if there is a massive weight difference between the two, it will steal tons of sales

edit: if you ever wanna sell you're F-body here is the place to sell em....just look at what they go for in the trader over here, and the amount of k/m on em. I've gone to look at tons of z28's for up to 15g's and there all in **** condition. http://www.trader.ca/search/Results....tegory=&CAT=1#

I don't need any options...all I need is a LS engine and a 6 speed gearbox (and LSD comes standard) ....that's all I need!!! I don't need a fancy HUDs or nav unit.... heck I don't even need a radio ..I will just roll my windows down and hear that exhaust roar

I don't see what the big deal is. Lighter is better. To get the same performance and better handling out of a less powerful car, who cares? It's still a V8 Vette with amazing performance, and it's still plenty moddable, so the new vette would have more potential, starting out lighter.

Im guessing because it takes less to make a 2 seather then it does a 4 seater, saving metal and all other sorts of materials, I read what troy said and he right the lighter the better

ok let me put it to u in plainer terms...if the vette only puts out 3-400 hp in 2012...what is the camaro going to put out?...remember now, the camaro always has to be less powerful then the vette...

The Camaro isn't less powerful. It is slower. The LS-1 in the C5 was the same as the LS-1 in the Camaro. GM will probably say the Vette has more power just to appeal to the general public, but if they are using the same engine it won't matter.

Their were rumors floating around a while ago that GM was thinking about not worrying about the power difference anymore anyway since the cars appeal to two different markets. Will that be true? Only time will tell. I would be more worried about the canadian plant that is slated to make the new Camaro threatening to strike. That could screw everything up.

I don't see the big deal. Last I checked, it's a good thing to get the same performance or better and pull off better gas mileage numbers. You're an idiot to think otherwise. Simple as that.
