If you're talking about the 'vette owner, he's a she. Anyways, it depends on what the papers the owner signs. Alot of the time, when a shop does extensive work on expensive cars, in the fine print of the papers the driver signs, there's a clause that says something to the tune of "the shop is not legally responsible for any damage incurred while in our possession" or something that frees them from legal responsibility if the car gets messed up while they have the keys

I do beliebe I would take a lawsuit out against them and sue for every penny he ever thinks about having, There is not instance where someone should drive a car 500 miles when its in there for them to work on, take it around the block and bring it back, dont drive from durham to florida (Guessing for a wild answer) I'd ..... dude wow Thats I have no words for that

That is simply ridiculous. I bet even if there were papers signed that removed them from liability in the shop, she would still be able to get money out of the shop. That is just plain stupid of them.

Well, now I'm finally convinced after all these years.... SPEED KILLS. Too bad it was the car. Kinda funny though that the guy wanted his car to be so super fast that it pretty much self-destructed when driven. No other alternative than to sue the company, but if he signed some kind of waiver he may be in trouble. Also, I'm thinking that most judges would laugh about this. I mean, c'mon, someone goes to speed shop to get fast car built dangerously fast, then speed shop builds said dangerously fast car and crashes it. Have fun with that one in court....
