Re: what to name a automotive paint company?

I wouldnt use anything generic (HotRod). That sounds too much like a one week business... You need to sound professional.

        Curtner Auto Body
        Curtner Collusion and Paint
        Express Automotive Paint
        Curtner Auto Paint Company
        WC Auto Paint

Mix those up a bit. I know you didnt say anything about body repair, I just put them there for some examples.

Other things to consider other than your name... Location - county, city, highway numbers. Many other things too. You should post that info BTW...

And one more thing, I own all those names, so if you use one you gotta paint my car :D

this has my vote... in these market you should only target the collision accident people... you should tell them that you do everything from body work to custom work in a short phrase....

Horsepower is how fast you hit the Minivan... Torque is how far you take the Minivan with you... :wavey:

IMO, you don't want to be obnoxious about what you do, you want to let your work speak for itself.

What I mean is, most people who have a beat up car probably aren't really interested in getting it taken care of. People who are interested are either people who've been in an accident, or enthusiasts. Target your market, rather than wasting time/money/energy trying to blanket everyone. I mean, it's kinda like spam, spam hits thousands hoping for a couple of hits, and annoys most.

                  So I'd take a three-pronged approach.

                  1. Talk to insurance companies, most people who're getting insurance claims fixed are going to say to the insurance company "I don't know who to take it to, have any suggestions?", and the insurance company will funnel them to "Approved shops".

                  2. Get a decent sports car, (Firebird, T/A, Camaro, Z-28, Mazda RX8, Mustang ::shudder::, or something ricey), and do your very best paint job ever to it. Then put your name on top of the windshield. Take it to shows.

                  3. Put some ads in the local papers.

You target your two markets with minimal effort and maximum effect. Get insurance companies on board and they'll do the work of funneling for you, enthusiasts are impressed by what they see and they see it most at shows(Which is conicidently where "Penis-envy" kicks in and people are most inclined to decide on a major undertaking), and you catch the remainder simply with classifieds.

                  That's what I'd do.

Edit: It's *really* important to remember, people aren't going to be impressed by a car painted a solid color with nothing else. Do whatever you want to do to it, just make certain that you do a custom job that has some detail to it. Another red honda isn't impressive, you have to take it to the next level.

Extreme is so over used. Extreme edition cars, Xtreme TV, extreme razors, extreme soap, extreme feminine wash, X this, and exteme that. SO severely overdone it's annoying. What is so extreme about your paint shop any way? It's like Xtreme deodorant, WTF is EXTREME about it. It's ****ing deoderant for cripes sake.
