Shelby Cobra Coupe or Fastback...its one of those 2, but there are only 2 ORIGINALS built. The rest are kit cars, because the only 2 were raced in the LeManns. Sadly, they couldnt keep up with the For GT40s...
wrong son. In fact there are a total of 6 built. 1 in America, and the rest were built in Italy. They are the only American car to this day to of won the manufacturers GT championship. The CEO of Walmart owns one and races it at vintage events.
If you like that, you should check out the Indy 500 car that almost won in 1968, but broke with jsut a handful of laps to go. they had that at Laguna Seca this year. it didnt run, but still a nasty piece of artwork.
and if you wanna hear an awsome car, listen to this, its a BRM H-16 1.5 litre supercharged. Dont let the title fool you, they werent V-16's thye were in an H configuration, the heads were a true work of art. http://youtube.com/watch?v=fZMPDCNyQxE
I swear if that sound didnt make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, you havea hearing problem!!
Yes, i've seen footage of the BRM... it was a cool idea... unmitigated disaster.
However, i still maintain that the best sounding engines ever were the old 3.4 and 3.8 litre straight 6s that jaguar put in their Type C and D sports racers.
I'll post a clip later when i get home and i can get on youtube..

Kudos to who knows what kind of car this is...and mega kudos and a pancake to who knows how many there are, as well as both of its names.
its a 1993 Isdera Commenadtore 112i. Only one was made. It was designed by a former Porsche designer ( can you see it in the front? looks like a fat 959 lol) It used a mercedes Benz V12 with about 400+ HP and 425ft. lbs of torque. Top speed was about 205, and to me, is one of the best looking supercars that never got to be in the world.
and as for the C and D types, I couldnt agree with you more. A prestigious collector I know borught his to this years historics, and when they drove it up into the meusem, ohhh man, I jsut wanted to jump in and take off myself.
I'm not the biggest fan of a sleek looking exterior paired with a classic interior with a steering wheel that looks like it should be on a pirate ship...no offense, but minus the interior, I love the Spyker.
I ate a bowl of fail this morning.
