So what would you guys think of that? I'm kinda considering it. I haven't enjoyed my car in a while, mostly because I haven't had time to keep up on the basic maintenance. It bothers me every time I drive it. It prolly wouldn't take much to make it comfortable again, but I'm curious about this offer.

$5500 for a 3.8V6 Camaro with an Auto (that needs help)
    Reconstructed/Salvage Title
    90,000+ miles
Wheels definitely stay with me since I just put $600 worth of tires on them about 700 miles ago.

Thing is I'm at a point in my life where I can afford to do something now. I can either put some money into making it drive/ride the way it used to, the way I will enjoy it like when I first got it.... or I let her go and drop the cash for something more refined.....

I don't really know where I'm going here.

I know I'd miss her, what do you all say? It'd be hard to get that kind of money for my car anywhere else....

Thanks man, I appreciate it. This really makes me sad to know I'm even thinking about letting this car go.

if its paid for, keep it and buy another car. you'll regret getting rid of a car thats paid for.

id like to know where the **** you guys are finding these ls1s so cheap, around here i cant find one for under 10k, and if its a trans am, most of them are still 13k+.

Thanks. The price is kinda why I'm so interested. I love my car, despite it's problems. I haven't even unlocked the doors in 3.5 weeks though. $5500 for a V6...... Think what I could buy with that, you've already mentioned the going rates for a clean titled LS1.

the bolded sections are the big obstacles, and the underlined one is the biggest reason why you won't see anywhere near 5500.

I think fixing the car and driving it would your best bet financial wise because you won't even get half the asking money with a salvage/recon title...no way

Yeah, it's paid off, has been for a year or two now.

I've seen a couple around 6500-7500. They're not perfect, but they have clean titles and 100K miles. I know I'd prolly regret it, but I'll be needing to get a beater vehicle soon for work. I've been looking at bikes again too, plus there's soooo many options now too.

well i vote keep it. rebuilt or not its still one of the cleaner cars on this site. fix the probs and DD it.

i dont see the point in spending 6500 bucks on a car with 100k miles personally. i know ls1s run just fine after 100k (buddy of mine has 120k on his and it still knocks off a low 13 at the track damn near stock) but 6500 could be better spent on a lower mileage car.

I would keep it until Spring, it will sell alot easier then

ls1tech, craigslist just got to look around

i know of 3 LS1 cars for under 6K right now that are in decent shape w/ ok miles

I'd say being a hardtop would be a bigger drawback than 90K miles, 90,000 miles isn't alot in my book

SmokeyPants, Kala, I know that salvage/recon titles cut the value in half at best. That's how I got the deal I did on it back in 2001.

$5500 is not an asking price at all. I'll leave it at that. Should the guy hold at that price (which we all how salvage cars go), I just don't know anymore guys.

Lol, thanks man. I agree with you on that. There's just one problem with it. I can't daily drive it anymore. I can't take it where I work (I could, but it would just make the car less enjoyable, location is offroad, mud and bumps), and I log 50 hours a week so I don't go anywhere in it anymore.
