Wtf ...did honda cbrs come with lt1s or something?!

the bike is now dead....somehow(cracked head im assuming) coolant got into cyl 3 and 4 and it locked up the engine ....damn it...new motor is cheap though at least my cbr lt1 WOOOOOO:mad:

Maybe you can check over on 600rr.net for a part out. Somebody might have an engine you can use...... or you can ebay it.

I think I saw one on 600rr.net a few minutes ago actually.

Oh come on man! You have WAY too much into that bird to justify selling it or parting it out. Fix the damn optispark and get it back on the road! Virtually everything else is new on it!

Doesnt mean it's a cracked head, a blown headgasket would cause coolant to leak into the cylinders.

That sucks though, id pull the head off and see if its completley locked up, take a 2x2 piece of wood and smack it against a piston with a hammer to get it to break loose, possibly rebuild that engine with new pistons / rings. possibly hone in neccesary.

ill prolly pull the head today sometime... i didnt think of the gasket till after i posted ....im hoping thats all it is and its not to to rusty inside

Take all the spark plugs out and turn the engine over, see if it's locked up or not.

If you turn it over with the spark plugs in there, its trying to compress the liquid and could bend a rod or a valve etc.

thats the first thing i did...with them out its still not going at all....thats why i pretty much know its shot unless i rebuild

woohoo a bike problem. something I can fix.

CBR i4.. drop the engine, drop the oil pan, take off the valve cover. Take cams off and check the shim buckets. make sure they are all the same hieght. if not, then you have a blown valve which will cause the motor not to turn. Once the cams are off try to rotate the crank. if it wont turn, crack open the case and see why...

i have built SEVERAL motors including Honda f4i, busa, gixxer, CBR 900, 929rr, couple dirt bike motors..

Hell I have a cbr 900rr motor in my garage! people are swapping the 900 motor in their F4i's. lol

Let me know if you have any issues. I used to be a cycle tech, now there is no money in it... everyone is buying manu. warr. bikes now. something goes wrong, just take it back kinda thing
