I went to the airport earlier for a sponsor's party and meeting the local jumper's new wife when someone told us to go look at a plane outside.
Well, we looked. And this is what we saw.
It had been really windy the past few days and apparently the rope didn't hold out on the tie-down. One snapped and the plane was whipped around, causing the other two to break and the plane to flip over. All in all, it was blown about 30 feet across the pavement and will be totaled out. Last I heard the airport officials were trying to find the owner. Some student around here that was just finishing up his training hours. Sucks.
Oddly enough, the ropes all had a clean snap, but were not cut.
