Well, due to the fact that I'm in need for money, and a more gas effecient car, I might sell my Cam. This isnt a classified ad, but I would just like an opinion, or if I should just hold off to April for my sign on bonus. I'm looking at a 1994 Miata 1.8L that has cold air and SPEC Miata exhaust. He wants $5000, and I'm pretty interested, but I need to sell the Cam first...

2000 model
It has 104000 miles
3.8L II
Pewter
Black leather
snowflake wheels
power steering
power windows
power locks
cold a/c
hot heat
45 series flowmaster mufler
descreened throttlebody
M5, no kinks, no grinds
strong clutch
New cd player with HD radio
had the radiator and engine flushed about 300 miles ago
had the heater core flushed about 4,000 miles ago
new brakes

Needs sparks, in which I will include with the wires
Needs tires, I will be putting a fresh set on in the next 2 weeks
The hood has some weird set of scratches on the top

It misfires under hard acceleration, so thats why I'll be including sparks

Other than that, it starts strong, runs strong

Any suggestions on an asking price? I was thinking about $6000...

probably a little less. it has 10,400 miles or 104,000? If you want a quick sale price it about 3.5-4k. If you ask 6 its going to have a hard time selling. Fix the misfire and maybe you can get 6k.

Re: Shoot me

Miatas are badass little cars...

but not doing track duty they are kind of gay....

I am drunk and skimmed the thread... but if your car is misfiring and only needs plugs, you need to install them, what is is 15 min? 45 if your incompetent? Get it running straight if its something as simple as plugs/wires.

Re: Shoot me

Have you ever driven a miata? They are lots of fun on backroads, but they are kind of hard to live with depending on your needs. The trunk fits just about nothing and depending on how tall or heavy you are you may not even fit. They are also really scarey to drive on highways because no one can see you. With that said if you are looking for a fun reliable roadster with a top that take 3 seconds to put up and down then a miata is a great buy.

You're an idiot. The miata in question clearly has a leather interior and although it is 6 years older than his f-body it still put's his interior to shame. Although that doesn't take much with an f-body. Also, it's a 1.8 liter inline 4 not a rotory. Why don't you learn about cars before casting judgement on them.

Re: Shoot me

I've driven a few Miatas. I drove the NA series and the NB series. Despite the extra 15hp in the NB series, the NA was still lighter by 200lbs. In that case, weight trumps power. The car's link is attached to my first post, so everyone's more than welcome to their opinions. For now, I'm in a slump for money with the President's bonus delay bill not helping it. Ironically, the day I was supposed to get the money, the bill was activated and set me back 2 ****ing months! I can understand that its a lower powered car, but think of the potential. There are turbo Miatas, rotary transplant Miatas, and even LS1 transplant Miatas! Sure it takes more time and money to do a V8, but imagine our Camaros being around the 2000lb mark with over 300hp...THATS a rocket. As a matter of fact, I think I saw one in action the other day...I thought the engine sound was coming from a near by truck, until the Miata downshifted and took off. What a sleeper that would be to any ricer poser.

I can tough out the cost for now, but the only thing thats trying to put me out of my 'maro, is the insurance. I'm getting ripped off by hundreds of dollars, and I cant make the payment to get out. $360 a month...I'm 19, no tickets, no wrecks, no violations, no nothing, AND I'm military. Thats Liberty Mutual, for anyone who wants to know...I'm wanting to switch to USAA, a military insurance company for us military peoples. Instead of a $360 per month payment, they need $200 up front, and only $120 a month. Sad, but true. Insurers are ripping us off in Oklahoma if you dont have a truck. A friend of mine has had 6 tickets, a misdemeanor, 2 accidents, and an arrest (all in high school). He owns a 1992 Ford F-150, and only pays $180 a month with the same insurance company as me...Liberty. Tell me thats not gouging for sports car owners...

Re: Shoot me

Just bought a 2000 miata for my daughter last weekend! Only has 20,000 kilometers.
Drove it all the way from the west coast (24 hrs of driving) to get it home. Great car! Looks good, handles great, good fuel economy, rear wheel drive, rides really nice on the highway for something so small. Daughter loves it.

My brother had a '92 that was modified. Turbo with 9 psi boost, intercooler, adjustable fuel pressure reg, LSD, lowered 1 inch, bilstien adjustable shocks, and many, many other goodies. Car looked stock, but holy sh*t that thing went! What a great car.
Now Playing: \'99 Pewter Firebird, stock, bone stock, and nothing but stock, so help me God!
Comming attractions: K&N Filter, Lid Mod, Intake Bellows Smooth Pipe Mod.
I dream about: Forced Induction (TC or SC) or NOX (or both!)

Do it, I'd love a Miata. I wanted to get one but after my accident last summer my parents insisted on a "larger" car.
