It had aluminum heads but sold them, so I have steel heads that need work, it has a edelbrock intake, no carb.
no headers I'll try and take a pic tomorrow. One of my friends told me its worth about a grand!
their not the most desireable big block out there, the value realy depends what it came out of, if its a truck motor after 72 dont bother, to get good horse power out of a truck motor past 72 ur going to rebuild or replace almost everything, however if it was out of a muscle car chances are its worth some money, chevelle, camaro, nova, vette, el camino if its out of any of those you'll be able to sell it, if it wer eme i would take it and clean it up real nice and sell it off, doubt you'll see 700 out of it thou unless u have it machined which can be costly. on the other hand u can go out and pickup a 80's camaro with a motor for around $200 and build yourself one very fun ride. if you think your going to resell it thou i wouldnt get it, like i said unless their machined and rebuilt i almost never see them go for over $500 unless their something special like one of the muscle car motors especially if they still had the factory carb, ive seen factory big block carbs from 60's and early 70's muscle cars fetch 500+ by themselfs.
I dont know where u friend got his idea it would sell for a grand, especially with steel heads, no way, i rarley see a 454 go for that unless its redone or something real special, get the numbers off it we can give u a much better idea of the value.
