Do i have a funny story.

I take auto at my high school and my auto shop teacher has the class set up just like if we were working at a real shop but we don’t get paid. Well anyways a customer had their truck towed into the shop today and I was assigned to work on it. Well the customer says the car is no starting. He started off with replacing the battery nothing. Then he replaced the starter nothing. Then he replaced fuel pump nothing. So he decides to tow it to my shop. I take a look at the car turn the key and the car is getting no power at all. I look at the battery and I notice on the negative terminal there is the plastic terminal cover that is on when u by a new battery. So I take it off and the car starts right up. This guy put all this money in his car for it to turn out it was his goof up..... When I told him what was wrong he felt so dumb and he said he didn’t even think about taking that off. The sad thing is he teaches science so u would thing he would now to take that off.....

sometimes i just bite the bullet and take it to a shop rather than dumping money into a car like that... at least he did a lot of preventative maintenance!

My gf's mom asked me why her check engine light was on one day... I looked all over that car and couldn't figure it out from just looking. Everything sounded legit. She took it to the shop and they plugged it up... turned out the gas cap wasn't all the way on

i wish i coulda taken auto mechanics. i was "too bright" they said. that class is for the kids who don't really have a future. a**holes.

man they don't even offer auto shop at my high school or any of the other ones in the county,
i was so pissed when i found that out, still am.
when i asked why they got rid of it i was told that they had to make room for more computer classes.:mad:

That has happened to me a few times with the gas cap, good thing I was aware of it, or I would have taken it to a shop and felt stupid.
