  • suggestions for summer project

after the success of my first major project (transmission swap,) im thinking about starting another one this summer. i will probably be starting a tech college for mechanics so that will only help. i want it to be performance relating to the engine. budget will probably be around $1000-2000. i want it to be a fairly big project.

ive been throwing the idea around of the gtp supercharged 3800s, but searching here it sounds like thats pretty much out.

    open to any suggestions!

Used set of heads, manifolds and cam. That should make it grunt a little better.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

supercharging/stroking would be too much money. plus i dont wanna make too much power because i dont feel like breaking my tranny or getting a gforce. if i did heads, that includes valves, rockers, etc right?

                        P&P Heads/intakes(manifolds)/TB and get a cam.

That's what I think 3-4 of us are doing atm. Well the heads at least.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the Minivan... Torque is how far you take the Minivan with you... :wavey:

you would want new valves, new rockers arent necessary.

but if you do heads, you can run a thinner headgasket and mill the heads down a little. Up the compression. More compression = more power.
                            That is what im doing

going to be milling my heads .02 and using a .045 head gasket to up my compression to 10:1

if just got a mild cam, what else would need to be replaced?
