I'm a young youngin and am new to e-bay. Anyone got some helpful hints for a newbie trying to not get swindled and trying to learn the customs of ebay.
Like how long after winning should I wait before giving payment? (In my first transaction the seller seemed to be surprised when I payed as soon as I won).
Is e-bay pretty safe?
What are your guys' opinions on e-bay?
What are your suggestions?
Thanx.
If somebody with really bad spelling and grammar contacts you and wants you to ship whatever you're selling to Nigeria.. go for it!
for sure!
check out the feedback from other ebay users... and beware those that have little or no feedback, especially if you are buying something of significant value.
Pay as soon as you win. Some people might be surprised, but most pay extremely quickly. I'd say 2 out of 3 pay within an hour. I've done a number of auctions.
Paypal ONLY. Paypal protects you on physical goods, you send a money order and they can screw you. If you contest with Paypal, they have to present tracking numbers that show delivery. The converse is true to if you sell, you can prove with the tracking numbers you upheld your end of the deal.
Make certain you know what you're buying. Recently, I wasn't paying attention, bought a set of "Smoked lenses", the way it was worded loosely indicated they'd fit a firebird's rear sidemarkers, they don't, they fit a Camaro's, it's the front markers they fit on a Firebird. Poor wording, I should've checked more closely.
Learn what a Bot/Macro is, what bid-sniping is and how it relates, and why you should watch the last 2 minutes. Summary version: Bot/macro is a program that monitors E-bay with a set of items to search for, and a upper-ceiling price, on finding one it'll log it to a file, and in the last couple minutes it'll automatically start bidding in small increments up to it's top price. So you can walk out 10 minutes before the end thinking you got a deal, and find out some bot pushed it 2 cents over your maximum.
ya and if u buy somethign that must be installed to verify if it works or not, install it. Otherwise, you'll be outt he money for the simple fact that a broken item after 30 days is hard to return
Car expresses who you are. If you have a ****ty car, you must be a ****ty person;)

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/995979
