  • New Mustang V-6's

Anyone else think it's funny how are cars are comparable to the 2005 Mustang V6's in quarter mile and performance. seeing as our cars are at least 3 years older, this makes me smile.

even with 96 and up F-bodys the numbers are very similar with the ford have more hp, but they are also boats . Car & Driver Tests found 2005 Mustang V6 time 15.3, 1997 Firebird 15.5 in the quarter mile

actually the 3800s were used as far back as 1987 i think in Buicks. It wasnt the same exact engine but there arent too many differences between the older ones and the new ones. So if you want to get technical the engines in our cars are 20+ years old

                          Re: New Mustang V-6's

funny I have seen stock 5-speed Mustangs in the high 14s.

seems the faster stockish v6 f-bodies are in the low 15s

and I bet if I look it up the fastest v6 mustang is faster then the fastest v6 Mustang(not including the Harry Doolittles)

ive seen a LOT of stock 5 speed stangs doing high 14s. a few things like swapping in a gt exhuast and intake and a retune and theyre good for mid 14s no problem. so i wouldnt say they are slow.

I wouldn't say they are slow, but for an 8 year, and $10,000 difference, i'm glad I bought a Firebird
