So my truck went into the dealer for some warranty work, it was only supposed to take 1 day.. but when I called to pick it up(4 days later, I was on vacation), they said it might be another week before it was finished....
So I sat patiently until friday, and called to see if the truck was finished yet, and they said no they were waiting on parts, and it may be another week. They offered to give me a loaner truck, so I was satisfied.
I went to pick it up, and when I got there they gave me a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse, V6 fully loaded model. It must be a program car, it has 10,000 miles or so but is def. new.
I was a bit pist off I didnt get a truck but just accepted the car and left.
Figured it would be a good opportunity to test the car, and get back into a "sports" car.
At first I didnt like it at all, the interior was strange, felt really tight like you were in the cockpit of a smaller lear jet. Overall power was okay, but nothing to write home about.
A few things I like about the car:
*The interior lights, blue... they look awesome at night.
*When you open & close the doors, they crack the window to release pressure & shut them right away.
----------
I started screwing around in it a bit, my buddy has a supra and was doing burnouts in their driveway, so I put it in autostick, and did some burnouts, will spin completely through 1st and second no problem. The car is a dog in auto, unless you have your foot to the floor the entire time.. but with auto stick it freakin' moves!
Now that I did a burnout and drove around in autostick for awhile, just running the RPM's up to 6k (redline is 6,500) getting the "sports" car urge out of my system since im a truck owner now.... I went out today to go to the store and it's shifting hard in D.
What a piece of crap, it cant take 1 day's worth of slight abuse without something going wrong? Seriously.
I abused my camaro for several years on a daily basis and with over 100k miles it was nearly bullet proof.
After having it for a few days though the interior has grown on me and it's a fairly enjoyable car to drive compared to a truck, but wouldnt really recommend it.
