  • WOOT! ...oh wait...

Woohoo! I got my cam back today! ...but its knocking hard while idleing and deccellerating through the gears...It had work done that involved cleaning the cylinders of the fluid that was in it (dexcool leaked in). I asked a friend, and he said there's the possibility that the gas is dirty, or that the injectors are dirty and that either a fresh tank of gas and some injector cleaner might solve the problem. Please tell if this might be the case, or do I need to high tail it back to my mechanic's tomorrow morning to have it looked at again...

Umm...if there is dexcool (antifreeze) in your cylinders than you have a blown head gasket. Dont drive it until you get it replaced.

If the antifreeze got in your oil...you probably spun a bearing. That might be what the knock sound is, especially if you hear it from the bottom of the car.

I highly doubt its dirty gas...

Its fresh from getting cleaned out and everything. There isnt a drop of that sh!t in my car anymore. The issue lies with the knocking fresh from the shop...It didnt knock til after I got off work, and it was obviously too late to go back to the shop and tell them.

Go to an auto store, buy a can of Seafoam Injector Cleaner, and Lucas Lubricant. I think you pour the whole can of Seafoam in for 8 or more gallons. Let 2 tanks of gas pass before you pour the lubricant in, and it should run nicer if you have dirty injectors.

I took it back to the shop this morning. They said they'd fix it for free because it didnt knock before the initial repair. It was so bad, I had to have it towed in fear that it would hurt the engine. So, the only bill I'll have is a $25 tow to the shop.

Ok. Official word...the clutch went bad. It happened because about 2 months ago the transmission mount was broken and I didnt know/get it fixed for 3 weeks. The clutch rattled and wobbled around and destroyed itself. My dad, being the as$ hole he is, assumed that I was hotrodding in it too much. Although I do get on the gas sometimes, I take tremendous care of my car, as anyone would do if they prided their car like I do.
