Just brought the ol' '68 fastback out of storage (my dad's first car). Currently it's sporting a 289 that is coming out tomorrow and when it goes back in, it will be a 302. This engine will be my project for the next few months and will be a fun car when it's back together, then we'll fix up a few chips and broken parts and it will be good as new.
i can only hope any project car i work on in the future has that big of a head start on it
Yeah, it's in great shape overall inside and out. Only things: the parking brake was stuck on when we brought it out of storage (I know, we shouldn't have had it on in the first place). Chances are it needs all new wheel cylinders. The knob on the passenger window crank is busted off, and the tach doesn't work. Outside is just a couple chips that have been filled in with touch-up paint. The engine ran nice before, but was starting to show it's age, and now hasn't been run in nearly 4 years, so it's time for a rebuild.
We have a big shop in a nearby town that we store our trailer and the other 63 lincoln parts car. We put the parts car on shop dollies, and there was plenty enough room for yet another 18' car.
The plan is to pull the engine with the convenience of having it at the house, then move the body back into storage while I finish up the engine.
It's actually GM Arctic White. The stock ford white was kind of a yellowy color that wasn't too attractive, so my dad went with arctic white on the first repaint.
Extremely nice stang!!! Me and you are about in the same boat. You are pulling the motor and building it, and in my project 79 camaro my body and stuff is all good, im currently building a new motor. 350 four bolt main bored .60 over. Good luck with the build!
