I dunno man, eclipses are still pretty sweet cars....but I dont know if I would spend 9 grand....its up to you...do whats best for you, not everyone else....do check the trader though...I've seen some nice looking 3800 camaros going for under 9g's with under 100k on em around here...usually round the 8-9g's mark actually.
its more about getting a newer used vehicle than getting a bran new vehicle so I won't be considering a new eclipse. If I had that kind of money there are tons of cars I'd consider: I'm thinking G8 or a small SUV. I'm only considering the eclipse because its a convertible and 2002 Camaro convertibles, even 3.8's, go for well over $15,000 around here over $6k more.
Here's a pic...
it has a lot of squared lines, so I'm not exactly sure where ppl think I'll need a sex change to go along with it. Yeah its more feminine than an f-body, but its not completely emasculated.
...I have seen some pretty hot girls riding in that car in that colour...hey maybe thats not such a bad thing...prolly means you could pick up easier...
i dunno dude... personally im more of a sec gen fan myself... but.. id say 96.5% of eclipses around here are driven by really good looking chicks... OR.... gay guys...
especially third gen spiders...
sorry to break it to you... maybe canada is different...

i would not reccomend getting an eclipse, or any mitsu for that matter. they are junk. dont get me wrong i like the look of the eclipse.... i had a 97. but that car gave me more problems than it was worth. leaked oil from a new spot every month. shift linkage was junk and would only last about a month before it needed redone. wasnt fast at all... even with mods. sunroof would leak, and pop open on the highway, window came off the tracks all the time... i could go on.. mabe i just got a lemon but i have heard some bad stories about those cars, i wanted one really bad when i was 16 and i had many people including mechanics try to talk me out of one but i bought one anyway, sold it in less than a year. to this day i like the looks of them but they are not reliable at all. i went with a buddy to pick one up he was buying, it blew up before he got it home, tho i do beleive that was do to the backyard mechanic work done on it, motor mounts either broke or were not tightened down... he spooled up and took off, the motor raised up in the engine bay and separated its self from the turbo oil lines, over heated and fried everything.

Yeah I had a 92 Mitsubishi Colt/Mirage a while back and it had a number of problems. Just looking at consumer reports tho, the 3rd gen eclipse has a pretty solid reputation.
Anyway...I think a lot of you are missing the point. I'm not after this car for its looks or its ability to run a quarter mile (in which case its probably not the best choice for either of these things). I've always wanted to own a convertible and this is probably the most affordable drop top around.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
