Re: firebird / camaro heaven
To be honest...
If I were looking for parts, and I came across your website, I'd take one look at the "Used parts" page and move along.
Why?
It doesn't tell me anything, it says you can get whatever I want. But what I want is to see what you have on hand and how much you're charging for it. Yes, it's an increase in work, but you could probably build it in XML or some easily edited reference file that you could update and comment out things at will with minimal time invested. Java script it, something, there's a thousand ways to do it.
I mean honestly, I can think of a half dozen or so parts I would've looked at while reviewing your site, for reference down the road.
On a good note, your cars pages are well done. Again, I'd introduce a second layer to that page that the user clicks on that leads to a page that lists info the user may want, done as above. Again, Java may be your best friend. One master application that gets fed an arguement from the click to pull from an XML file or a custom "Database" file that carries tags saying "This feature, that feature, this package, that gear set, etc.", then it displays the wanted car.
To be honest, you could streamline it and do the whole car page as a Java App and have a short text description "98 Trans AM, 20,000m, $25,000", the user clicks and it displays your pictures with the above data pulled from the database files. Actually would be a fairly easy app to write.
Edit:
The link for the first car's pictures in David T's car's is broken, throws a 404. I mention it cause it's a really sharp looking car and was interested in seeing more of it. Not that I could afford it, just wanted to see how good it looked.Last edited by Gatt9; 03-14-2008, 01:54 AM.
