Look at what I just bought!!!!!! Try VERY hard not to laugh!
WTF? Why is everyone dissing this car so bad? Any car can completly f up at anytime. Ive seen a camaros front wheel assm completely fall off. My 3rd gen steering column broke completely in half while I was turning. But nothing ever happend when I was in my excel...
You guys can keep stabbing at the I4 FWD all you want. Just cuz its not an Fbody doesnt mean it cant drive.
Oh and I dont now how many Fbodies Ive been in where the brakes have failed.
I was kiddin around callin it a vacume bro lol haha

They or may not be good...
I will say I have yet to drive/ride/seen/worked on a hyundai that was not an entire piece of **** deathtrap. But hey its a beater, they usually are that.
I am surprised how ****ty the gas is consdiering its a FWD I4.

O Im not saying it isnt a POS, because it most certainly is! Like you said its just a beater. But is that really considerd bad MPG for an I4? Ppl have been going crazy over the 5spd saturns and this thing gets better.
Wait, this is your replacement car for your Camaro? wow not saying f-bodies are the greatest, but I would have stuck with it over that car.
LMAO! O hell no! But I do plan to get something good on gas. And when I grad and move to TN is when I plan to get toys. And it will be an Fbody! Right now money is tight and gas prices arent helping. As much as we drive, Id say the car could pay for itself in 2 weeks. Im just in practical phase right now.

LOL dont take anything offensive in that post. It wasnt meant that way. It just seems bibber is the only one who got the point. And a leaf blower would prob blow it up LOL!
Re: Look at what I just bought!!!!!! Try VERY hard not to laugh!
Go get a bike if you're looking for MPG. New Ninja 250 is supposed to get around 65 MPG, and retails for around $6000 out the door! Plus, you'd look alot kewler on it, than in that :P Anyone with decent credit could get it for $120-$170 a month. That's less than what you'd save in gas!

yeah, true statement. But a car that costs $173, have more chances of breaking down then let's say a $5000 car.
:)
That is also true statment. I do have much higher probability. But Im quite good at working on cars. And plan to bring it up to par. As you can see Ive already fixed quite a few things. I wont say Ill go as far as upgrading, but I will inspect everything and make sure its in tip top shape before I do any more driving in it at all. Hell the day I bought it I had to drive it over 60 miles, did great. But like I said, no more driving until done.

Oh NO you di' it!!!
Excel is what ruined Hyundai's reputation. You're going to have a lot of headache.
If you want a beater get a 2003 Hyundai Accent. That thing gets 34/38 mpg. My wife used to DD it to work and school and everday she put 180 miles on it. That thing is reliable and better than my old '98 Civic and quicker too.
I soon traded it for a brand new 2004 Santa Fe. It now has over 100k and it still drives like I just got it from the dealer.
Re: Look at what I just bought!!!!!! Try VERY hard not to laugh!
My only point was if you buy a real beater to commute 5 or 10 miles to work then it is no big deal.
But 100 miles each way is pretty daring.
By the way, does it have working Air Conditioning??? If she plans to drive it 200 miles per day (when the van is not running) that will be very rough with no A/C in Florida.
Re: Look at what I just bought!!!!!! Try VERY hard not to laugh!
why the hell would she work over 100 miles away, or 400 miles? w/e.
That's ridiculous, she couldnt find a job closer? & if the reason is because its such a good paying job, obviously not if money is tight and your selling your bird.
But I would have snatched that car up for 175 too, good job

You show me one for $175 and Ill be all over it. And those Santa Fe's are nice, my friend has an 03 and Id deff drive one of those.

Correction on mileage, its 117 Round trip. So 234 total if she opens and I give her a ride.
O and the air is effin freezing! Better than the Bird that just got a charge!

I live in a place where most would call it little Mexico. Any entry-level job is taken or cost you more than you make (if you care to hear that story Ill tell ya). She has the job because its the only one she could get.
The deal with the job is that she works at a Starbucks in a service plaza on the Florida Turn Pike. There is a van that comes around and picks everyone up scheduled to work. But when she opens she cant ride the van because she has to be at work before the van would have even picked her up. And the reason she is opening is because shes going for supervisor. And now all the *** kissing has paid off (shes in training).
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
