Pep boys sucks

Their employees don't know much. I was in there the other day and I saw that they had magnaflow mufflers and I saw a sign for magnaflow catalytic converter for $69. So I was interested and asked the a guy if they had to cats in stock in the store and he hesitated for a second and was like "naww let me help you out".

He went on the computer and asked for year make and model. He brought up parts and was like.."ok you have the universal and direct fit. You need to know your ID and if you have 02 Boss or not." I asked what is 02 boss? He hesitated and said it's something that comes with the converter. By now I was confused so I figured I wouldn't trust this guy. I asked well do you have magnaflow cats and he said "no we only carry another brand I forget the name". So I said thanks and left.

What is 02 boss? Is that something to do with 02 sensors? And what did he mean by ID?

the 02 boss, i think he is refering to the "bung"

but not that it goes into the cat, but the pipe right after the cat

its a hole in the side of the pipe with threads, to screw the o2 sensor into the exhaust pipe, they call it a bung-hole...

I dont know if thats what he meant by boss, but I can only imagine it is.

I feel your pain man. I took my car the PepBoys for an oil change 2 weeks ago. They took my car, had it on the lift for 3 hours. I get my car back it's now 7pm, I'm about 1 hour away from work... I pull out of the parking lot and my exhaust is bang on something. I bring it back, and they are like "We didn't do it." I went all the way up to the manager, and they were like "take it to a place that fixes exhausts. we were told your car made that sound when you brought it in." LIES. -- I still have yet to get it fixed. I find myself at another pepboys to buy a new turn signal light. the price said 5.99 for the pack. I go to pay and it's 10.47. Apparently they mislabel **** too when nothing in the rack of lights was over 7 bucks.
