I have a 3800 02 Camaro and I do have an ASR (Anti Slip Regulator) button next to the fog lights thank you very much. Its not TCS, but the 3800's did have the ASR... also the ASR will kick the gas pedal back on you if forget to turn it off during autocross.
my ASR just activates fuel cut... doesnt move the pedal at all for me, maybe i am weird and kala's onto something here

Are you sure about that? I have the 2nd gear start button on my 98 v6Firebird, but I also have a dash light that lights up "Low traction" as well. Given it's turned on a grand total of 5 times in 6 years, and I've driven in some decent snow, but I thought that was traction control. I mean, there's not much point to the light if there's no traction control is there?
go out on a wet day, go about 30, slam the brakes, bet you it comes on. its not traction control. its a light for idiots.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

Oh I believe you, just wanted to double check because I've had the light. I'm actually happier without it given that I want to go racing at the start of April!
Of course, how stupid do you have to be to not realize you're spinning tires until a light comes on. I can feel it the second it starts.
Funny thing? All but two of the times it's come on was a shallow pothole I sorta skipped over. Sliding sideways on ice or spinning tires because of snow, instead I get "ABS inop". Thanks. Never would've imagined the brakes were debatable while my car is sliding sideways, Go GM!
